• Hi Gladys, I meant Happy Australia Day to you!! My mistake indeed. Have a great day. And yes we are still under snow, another foot fell on the weekend. Will share photos later this week. Have a great week. Judy

 • Hi Gladys - we wish you a very happy Australia Day - we feel a little bit connected to you: simply by living exactly on the opposite of the Globe! But the better reason is that we still have in vivid memory our two weeks in southern Australia (at Warrnambool - thanks to a convention). We felt we as Swiss had something similar, perhaps through a kind of isolation of our countries? Well, anyway: may this be a very special day for you and your friends! Cordially yours: (Kaethi and) Henri

 • Dear Gladys: It has been awhile and I like this new album you have made. Very unique. I like The Land pictures as they are very near like parts of the U.S. South West. But my favorite is The Ocean shots. I do love the beaches. Beautifully done. Kay

 • Hi Gladys, Al sent me an invitation to come have a look at this album. I'm sure glad he did i love what you've done here. I live in Canada but i've seen enough pictures of Australia to agree with you it's a beautiful country. There is nothing i would rather do then to visit there. You've done a lovely job of putting all these pictures together and your captions tell it all. Thank you for sharing this album of your country and it's spectacular sky. Claudette

 • Hi Gladys! This is a fabulous, fantastic, splendid album! Your collages are so creative and well done - this is bound to be featured. I hope you don't have to wait until next January for that though, because it deserves a feature just for the creativity, variety and quality of the images. A big thank-you to Al for directing me here. Very well done! Warmest wishes from California, Beth

 • Hello there Gladys. This is an exquisite album - not only must it bring total deja vu to those having lived in the country, but it also gives those of us, like myself, who have never been there a wonderful introduction in way of everything possible put in a nutshell so very beautifully. It is an excellent advert for Australia Day - better than many travel agents and photographers could produce! Likewise, your photography is quite spectacular and certainly you do much justice to Kodak's products! :-) Thanks for sharing such a superb album. Best wishes, Sue

 • Hi Gladys, A belated happy Australia Day to you and to all your fellow Aussies. This is a great compilation of beautiful photographs and just a terrific idea. I must confess a great ignorance of most things Australian. I'm not proud of it - it's just the truth so please instruct me. Does Australia Day, celebrate the discovery of Australia by Europeans or Australia's independence from Great Britain, or something altogether different? Greetings from Florida, ignorant Paul.

Thanks for visiting my Singapore Botanical Gardens album and for your very kind comment, as always. You're invited to take a look at my new albums of New Zealand. Some additional albums will be released in the next few days. Since your Queen of the Night is flowering now, I expect to see a new album with this beautiful flower as the star. Take care, Yair.

 • Hello Gladys, I saw your guestbook entries this morning. Thank you. Yes, the Arboretum definitely is a photographer's paradise. I have discovered that you can find little paradises not too far from home if you use your imagination and have patience (in the case of wildlife, a lot of patience). I am glad you enjoyed the Arboretum photos, I loved taking them and will to go back again.

 • I agree with your sentiments from your second message, but I think the solution is configurability. Everybody seems to have different notions of how they want to present their photos to their viewing public. I therefore think that if Webshots decides to do a "2.0" they should make optional configurability a core of the customer experience. It wouldn't be required and it would be unobtrusive to those who don't want to change anything or only want to change a few things. I agree that if a member wants a lot of views they do need to market themselves a bit and your recommendations make good sense. I tend to let my photos float on their own which is good enough for me. The exception is my rilroad related albums which I also post over on a railroad related BBS. I don't know if this is the reason that my Horseshoe Curve album has the highest number of views and downloads (2124 and 41), but it didn't hurt. The rest mainly fend for themselves which does yield some disappointing results. For example, Wye Island hasn't gotten as many views as I had hoped, but I have kind of written that off that what I like is not necessarily what others are going to like. But I digress. I still haven't even noticed the thumbs up thing, but I haven't been looking for it, either. I will have to check it out. Gah. I have been writing too much. Perhaps next time you can reply directly to my blog at blogspot (see the options at the end of the blog entries) so I don't pollute your webshots guestbook with these long entries. :

 • Hi Gladys, sorry for keeping you waiting for my answers. I just finished a very busy holiday and I am exhausted from having a dog for a short time. :-) I took lots of pictures while walking her, but neglected everything else. Now they are back, just as the dog (and I) got used to her new conditions. Thanks for telling me about the cut-off descriptions in the dog album. You are right it is disturbing. Often the description seems to fit, and then a few days later it appears cut-off. Thanks for looking at all of my new albums and for your lovely compliments. The roses are still beautiful. I keep adding pictures to that album, which soon will explode. YOUR rain soon will arrive. Hopefully it will be cooler in your region. I think the end of the summer is the most exhausting part. I am happy you liked the cat in my cactus album. She belongs to the local market garden. She loves the boxes, even when there are cacti in it. It is nice to have the camera always ready to shot. Gladys this album is fantastic! I've looked at it several times and always I find something new and surprising. It is a very good presentation about Australia. Nothing left out! I love your captions!!!! How nice that Webshots leaves us space for that!! So much information! I didn't know that Australia has it's 'own' car. Your collages are very nicely balanced especially in the colors! Beautiful! You invested a lot of work in this album. It should be printed out and published as a book! And it should be featured so that more people can learn from it and enjoy it. Gladys I have a question!! While walking the dog I - at last - wanted to take pictures from a beautiful tree, blooming now. A very slim and high tree. The bloom is barely to reach. At last I reached a branch and as I looked at it - - - it looks like 'Grevillea'! I thought about Grevilleas as of scrubs, not about 30 meter high trees!! And I didn't ever see a Grevillea in nature - only on Webshots!! Is it possible, that it IS a Grevillea?? Gladys, I hope you are fine! Have a wonderful day! Galit

Your excellent variety and collage of photos and the extremely interesting information you have provided has resulted in an outstanding piece of work. This album should be most certainly be featured!! I am also here to thank you for your most generous words you kindly left in my Easter g/b. I am sorry for the long delay in getting back to you, but I left on holiday the day of my feature so sadly missed out on all the fun of the kind notes arriving and more recently my computer had a virus and I was without it for quite some time. And on top of all that it was so my most popular feature ever, so I am STILL in the throws of replying to everyone. When I am through them all, I hope to have more time to visit my regular friends. Take care. Much love, Jayne/West Midlands, UK :) xx

Thank you for responding to my request, and of course I am not offended either. I do respect your wishes and opinions and don't have a problem when someone says no. Several of my friends here in Webshots, well we just love to laugh, or see fine collections, like Jaynes mailboxes, or Al's pride seeing his friends featured. And everyone loves CS's fun albums. So we enjoy sharing our photos, and to see what each other can come up with. It's all in fun! It's a way to bring us closer as friends too. So that is why we do this. Just thought I would explain this to you too. Thanks for your visits, and your nice comments. Take care, sending you my friend a big hug. Laura
