• Hello; I was originally attracted to your site by the trains - but find lots of great modes of transportation. This is a great album with very good photography. - Miss DeeAnne :)

 • Lorraine, So I gather that coal and sugar cane are your mainstays with the use of trucks and the rail. So, what do the road trains haul? Really like the tire picture, monstrous looking. Even the taxi's have their own flair. A real nice album, showing much of the N. Territory. Quite an educational album. Oh, never seen a Nissan that looks like your vehicle, but wish I had one. Looks comfortable. Best regards to you and yours. An Oregon Coast Greetings. Ron

 • Hi Lorraine, first, many thanks for your feedback on my black and white album. It was much appreciated; now I'll be looking out for your first B&W effort. I've viewed this album before, and enjoyed it because it really takes me to so many places, and reminds me of the diversity we have in this country. Your cover shot of The Ghan is a beauty, I took the trip, and loved every minute and every Kilometre of it. Hugs and best wishes from Keith.

 • Hi Lorraine! Now I have nothing more in my drawers, just a few photos that I took today in Seixal Bay and, as the matter of fact, are quite pretty:) I'll put it here one of these days. Thank you so much for your nice comments in my Lago Azul album. It was so nice going through this album and learning a little more about the big country that is Australia! All these vehicles, associated to the beautiful australian landscape and to your great skill make this album a great one. Wonderful shots! I loved the red ground, the dramatic skies, the beautiful trees and the transports (I love trains! specially old trains). I had never seen a sugar cane harvester! Always learning... My father worked with a shovel! a little different from this one. It was taller! He had to climb up stairs to go up there. Of course it was centuries ago, lol. But this one is a beauty, yes! And those resort buggies are so cute! Is that you, driving Nemo? I downloaded a few photos because they are so rare... It is nice that australian people shows its gratitude to camels letting them live free now! Making an album like this demands, beyond much curiosity, a lot of search on the ground. Congratulations for this excellent work. Dont' pay attention to my english...Hugs and take care, Rosa, in Portugal

 • Hi Lorraine! You have a wonderful collection of transportation modes pictured here. I really laughed at "Moving Nemo". Great album, well done! Gladys, Western Australia.

 • I saw your ships of the desert and I remembered that camels had been introduced to Australia but I can't remember why (an experiment in transport?). They were brought into the desert of Arizona for a period of time but all of them have long since disappeared. There is a monument to a famous camel driver in Quartzsite, Arizona which I have a picture of. I must take a look to refresh my memory. When I saw the coal shovel I was surprised by the proportion of the undercarriage in relationship to the size of the machine and bucket. It looks like it would have been very "tippy" when digging and loading. Jim

 • Like Peter, I too came to your first album, Lorraine, to leave a message after going through all your albums. They are incredibly good; I do not believe you are new to photography but rather just new to Webshots. I'm guessing you have a 6 or 8MP camera, which which you're taking exceptionally sharp photos. It's not fair that I'm following Peter; he *knows* your/his country, but on the other hand, I can tell you that your photos are helping the rest of us understand the beauty of the land, the architecture and the peoples. I LOVE the sleeping child in the so-called progressive, disposable diaper. *grin* ... I am happy to have you on my friends list so I can watch your new work!

Best wishes, Judy aka L@dybug, Florida

 • Hi Lorraine. Well, I hope things are starting to settle down a bit for you now after all the excitement of yesterday. What a great day that would have been for you and I thank you very much for finding the time to write in one of my guest books. I have now looked through all of your albums and have to say that these combine to make up one of the finest collections of Australiana I have seen. You have the knack of getting right to the heart of what makes our great country tick plus the ability to describe what you are seeing so well in your captions. Were your photos taken on a round Aussie trip - The Big One - or as a result of several shorter trips? We never got to the Territory but did spend a year travelling and working all the Queensland coast up as far as Port Douglas, another year covering most of NSW and shorter periods in SA and Vic. Have yet to get to Tassie but it's on the agenda. I am so glad you were featured as now so much more of our beautiful country is going to be seen by people all around the world. Catch you again soon, hugs, Peter
