Hi Jayne, I've just started looking through this lovely album. I've been to Whitby a couple of times but not since going digital. The only time I went to Yorkshire recently on hols, we all came down with a terrible bug and abandoned the place for back home. Thanks for all the lovely messages under my sunset/sunrises piccies. It does mean a lot that you like them. The weekend was a washout here. I am still hoping to get to several gardens that I have not visited before but it looks like the weather is doing its best to put the mockers on it. I do hope it gets better for your trip to Wales. They are currently saying it should be quite nice for the weekend. We can but hope. I will most certainly let you know if and when I get up to Warwick. What a lovely idea. Dear Jayne, I love this album. Whitby must be a fascinating place to visit. I love the abbey ruins. The work involved in building something like that is mind-boggling. I enjoyed the moors as well. I've read so much about them and now I have an idea of what they look like. Thank you for your comments on my Victorian trip. Yes, we do have green areas because we have the Great Dividing Range running along the eastern coastline. So that area does receive a reasonable amount of rainfall. However, west of the range does not receive as much rain. Of course, when we are in drought many areas appear brown. We have been in drought for several years now and the western areas are doing it tough. I like the new feature in Webshots as well. It is great to have comments about individual photographs. Hi Jayne, Sorry I am a bit late but have been so busy, Carolynn and I have just looked at this wonderful album of Whitby, read every fascinating word and lingered over every picture. Whitby is one of our favourite places having spent a couple of hol there in a little fishermans cottage, even took our dog many years ago with us. We have also had cottages up on the moors the last time when the foot and mouth restrictions were in force. Your images are always spot on and the comments for each pic is superb. Hi again Jayne,so pleased you got some great photos in Whitby,yes I have been there but some years ago and have always considered it to be one of the best fishing ports and towns for photography.Just something about the red roof tiles,old architecture and delightful old fishing harbour that gels perfectly in photographs,especially when the light is as good as this and the blue sky perfect for images.The old abbey is also a wonderful subject and you got some fine detailed images of that as well,I do remember taking some wider views of the harbour with the abbey featuring on the skyline.A really superb album and a personal joy for me to view,I can feel another feature coming,lol.,Kind Regards,Rod.

The photos are so tack-sharp and colo[u]rful; Whitby Harbour is such a beautiful spot and your photos taken from the top of the cliff offer us such a beautiful view! Your descriptions are so helpful, especially for we who haven't been there. <br> I stopped in my tracks at #11 with the adorable ladybug vest/weskit or whatever you might call it. How cute that would look on our granddaughters! <br> The Whitby Abbey photos are astounding and my opinion is that the people demonstrate the relative height of the Abbey remains and add a little life. The North York Moors are beautiful in #31 it seems there is just a hint of the lavender colour already. ... Thank you, Jayne, for this lovely trip, which I will take again - soon! ... I'm sure that you have a ton more photos from your trip, but this is already a contender for "featured album". I know it will happen soon! I see you were very excited about the lighthouse photo as your were writing the narrative...lol. Jayne, I think I must be going bonkers because I didn't know that you had this id of pennylane157; or, if I did, I sure don't remember it. I'm going to have to check out all of the albums here and make sure I didn't miss anything. Of course...if I didn't know you had it, I've missed it all..duh! I'm rambling.
