A beautiful album, Jayne. I have driven through Yorkshire many, many years ago, and have always been impressed by the countryside. Helmsley, particularly looks so picturesque in your photographs. The countryside has a very calming effect. Thank you for capturing the best of Yorkshire. I thank you too for visiting my Tuscany album and for the warm comments. Wow! You have spent a lot of time there. Yes, Florence is a breathtakingly beautiful town; so is Venice; so is Rome; and Genoa: the list is endless. I agree with you; it is perhaps the most beautiful country and a treasure trove of Europe. I have enjoyed visiting Italy many times over. So, you have a like minded friend. Best wishes, Suresh

Dear Jayne, I thoroughly enjoyed this return to paradise with you. Thanks for all your nice words in my Sicily album - we really did have lots of blue sky (look at the beginning of the album again), but like your trip to Yorkshire - it was definitely mixed weather. We even had a wonderful thunderstorm - something we never get in California. Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year - I hope to have more time soon to catch up on all my webshots friends' albums. I have been way too busy lately and really miss the community, but I especially miss being in touch with you. Get better soon! Love, Beth

what a lovely album, its lovely to see someone else perspective on the area where I live, I know most of the calendar girls personlly, and worked with both John and Angela ( the Main Characters) before John fell ill and sadly died...I met most of the film cast too which was fun..( they filmed it in the year I was Mayor of Skipton ) ...so thank you for sharing your photos, I think this album is brilliant...have added you to my favourites list.. Regards from Skipton Andy :)

I have really enjoy looking through your albums but especially this one. We emigrated to Australia in the 60's but I lived in Yorkshire on the edge of Bradford, looking out towards Leeds so these are familiar scenes that I do miss. Great pictures, regards from poppy.

Hi Jayne: Thanks for telling me you have this site. I loved this album and when we came to England we toured this area staying near Ripon. We visited all the sites of All Creatures Great and Small but most of all marveled at the beauty of the country side. We also saw the movie Calendar Girls so your pictures were a nice trip down memory lane.

Hi Jayne; I especially loved this album. I have read all of James Herriot's books years ago and was nearly inspired to become a Vet because of how I loved animals. I had just bought the book about Yorkshire just shortly before he past away. I felt as if I had lost a dear friend. Now, I still give his books as gifts, in fact was surprised to find that I had given the same book twice to the same person. I guess I just find him timeless and always enjoyable. Thank you, dear Jayne for all of your kind comments on all of my picutes. The tulip fields here also have a funny story. The tulips grown here are shipped to Holland, then sold back to people here in the US and around the world. I love visiting that area... it is about a 2 hr. drive from where I live. Something I look forward to every Spring. Thank you again for sharing this lovely album. It has been a treat! Best Wishes, Marjie/Olympia,WA

Dear Jayne, I love this album. I have travelled in that area myself and found it very attractive. I particularly enjoyed the photographs of Helmsley, Ripon Cathedral and, of course, the Tea Shop sign. I somehow got confused and ended up posting my message twice for the Tea Shop. I went backwards from something and saw "No message so far" and thought my message had been deleted. I'm still getting used to the ways of the computer! Thank you for your comments on my album of Tabby. You are not the only one who has commented on the her antics. She does sleep a lot, but when she is up and about she is a bit of a character! I hope your computer is well and operating as it should now. Best wishes, Judith.

Hi Jayne The English countryside is beautiful, so peaceful.. The stonewalls are most impressive, we also have these at the west coast of Norway, but they are still different. Have a nice Sunday. Your friend EVA

Dear Jayne, You could almost see the girls doing the Tai Chi on the hills :o)Glad I checked out your second site and found this. You looked to have a great holiday in N Yorshire and also had some real weather to go with it, never mind though it all adds to the atmosphere. Take care now, Love and hugs, Jill

Hi! The Yorkshire pictures are so lovely. Wonderful village, I love the restaurant house. Great meadows and lambs and sheep, the stone walls make the landscape really charming. Thank you for showing the northern England views to us. Merike from Finland

Oh, Jayne, these are wonderful, beautiful, fantastic photos. What a lovely village Helmsley is! The river Rye looks in these photos to be what we might call a brook or a stream, but I suppose in places the rivers' size increases. Now *I* can't wait for your return summer trip either!!! ... Lots of hugs, Judy
