Hi Gladys, another interesting & historical album. I have seen a peg drum thresher like that at a museum in the Orkney Is, & Samphire is a Norfolk speciality, they cook it & eat it with vinegar round here & just coming into season now. Afraid to say I am old enough to have seen whale oil bring rendered but not in that old fashioned way! Eric

Hi Gladys, Another interesting album. The museum has some great dummies in it. Also objects - I can remember using one of the hand sewing machines one time. Don't like the look of the huge box of epsom salts though, heh heh. The shot of the dried seed heads is a beauty as are the banksias. I was enchanted by the dinner shot, great light and the sunset sure looks worth an album. Of course the gum tree coloured trunk would be dear to my heart as are the beach scenes and the granite. Speaking of rock, you might like to see the additions to my rocks album. Not the best photography but the colours are interesting I think. Wish I had a letterbox like that one. Took a pic of one like a life-sized sheep a while back but can't recall where it is now. If I find it I'll let you know as it is extraordinary. All the best, Joyce.

Hi Gladys, great album! It is so good of you to have written the captions, I have never been over there myself and it is interesting to learn. Your black swans are beautiful and I enjoyed the birdwatchers! Greetings, Merike

Hi Gladys, I enjoyed watching the 8th album of your adventures in Tasmania. Again you did a very good job and I'll be back soon for the next episode. Thanks for sharing all these pictures. Take care, Yair.

Hello Gladys!, As Henri already had written, you should publish your so rich Tasmania collection: such a great variety of themes and very instructive comments! We love this new album, many amazing details! The rocks of "Rocks and Sea" in 42 and the granit formations in 71 are impressive! Wonderful Wineglass Bay views and panoramas! We also love cute Wallaby and your special plants as Banksia of 76. Thanks again for sharing! And thanks for your nice comments on our pebbles! Love and hugs, Henri and Käthi

Hello Gladys, Just wonderful, you have some great shots here. The Rural Swansea, Black swans, Honeymoon bay, The rocks and the sea, the sunset! In my opinion they are the best. Of course they are al good, but these shots touched me :-) I understand you have chosen to block the photo message, maybe you don’t know, you get an e-mail by a new message, it links to the photo! So you don’t spent time by searching! Warm regards, Joke

Hello Gladys, your invitation to view this album was waiting for me when I returned from my latest country trip. Once again you’ve filled gaps in my Tasmanian experience with these wonderful photos. It rained so part we weren't able to leave the bus on the day I visited Freycinet National Park; as for Wineglass Bay, it was invisible. The scenery is beautiful, and you’ve captured the feeling of natural and undisturbed nature really well. I love your banksia shots too. Now I’m off to view album #9. Best wishes from Keith.

G'Day Gladys...Well I finaly got the opportunity to finish the last three albums in this series of Tasmania 2006'..now my next question "Are there any unfinshed albums of Tasmania" ? Have truly enjoyed all eight albums as you have shared some awesome images in each album..Sure looks like you had an awesome vacation tour by the reviews from your Peers, including myself..Did have an awesome afternoon with our 5yr old grandson today & got some classic captures (15) of him just clowning around...Thanks for sharing your trip with all of us on webshots...God's Blessings from Texas...Ken

Hi Gladys,a wonderful album and great addition to your Tasmanian series, the scenery is so beautiful and I also found the early historic images very interesting. My favourites had to be the ones shot around Wineglass Bay,so beautiful there and unspoilt by mankind. Many thanks for sharing them with us and for your kind comment on my Dartmoor additions.I'll be in Cornwall for the next week and praying for better weather, quite wet at the moment and forecast isn't promising but I'll try and get some photos between the showers,Regards,Rod.

Hi Gladys, Another set of wonderful pictures! Together they give a comprehensive perspective on this not often seen place. I particularly like your pictures of Wineglass Bay. It looks like an absolutely magnificent and relatively secluded place to spend the day or the week fishing, swimming, and maybe doing some snorkeling. A truly natural paradise! Best wishes from Florida, Paul. P.S. By the way, is an Aussie Dunny the same as an American Outhouse? It certainly looks it.

Thank you for the comment on the Random Shots - I took that last August just after I got the new camera. This week I got a lens extender so my max zoom has gone from 12x to 18x. I will probably be getting some pics with it on Sunday. As for the file name/title thingamabob, that is where you put the file number in front of the file title thereby maintaining the best of both worlds. I plan to adopt that methodology on new albums and retrofit it onto some of the older ones.

Great set!! And it looks like you solved the image name/title problem for me. Thanks for creating a lot of work for me. :

Thanks Gladys, but believe me, if you look at other albums (such as The Day Of The Postman) you'll see the difference that some sun can make! :o) Just how many pics of Tasmania did you take? :o) Ciao! Roberto

Well i envy you getting to Tasmania, i have not been there since the late 70's when i did the Cradle Mountain Walk with friends, i did not have a camera at the time but a friend did, so i have copies of old pictures that i have scanned, the car is wonderful like the other pics, save the Packard to my vehicle collection, also loved the old machinery. All the best Martin P.S. I intend going back there one day with the camera oh and not to forget the wife lol

Hi Gladys, thanks for this edition of your series on Tasmania. I was surprised at how much it resembles this part of the U.S. - except for all the water and beaches. I suppose at one time, Texas and New Mexico still had its receding waters; but that was eons before anyone settled here. The banksia always fascinate me, as do the old relics of times gone by. Best wishes always, Charlotte in TX

Hi Gladys! I like lots of things in here mate. The shots of rural Swansea, all the bays and beaches shots and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of that fatastic sunset. Catch you later. Hugs mate! Al

Hi Gladys! Thought I'd start my tour here as this was my favourite place to visit and I must say you bought back some wonderful memories and got some beautiful photos, also of places I didn't get to! I particularly loved your photos from the Honeymoon Bay area (I would have liked to have gone there but we were on a whirlwind trip) and was going to comment on your actual photos but for some reason it doesn't seem to work for me at the moment...Love the banskia - is such a beautiful flower! and also the birdwatchers on the beach! It was raining very hard when we passed through friendly beaches so we gave it a miss. Your sunset photo is absolutely gorgeous!! Thankyou very much for your comments in my guestbook and I will slowly make my way around your other Tassie albums - looking forward to it! Best wishes and hugs, Kate
