    • Really appreciate you sharing these photos. You have a picture of my grans house which was on the corner of Gorbals street and Clelland street. We stayed there with my Gran for 5 years having been moved from Kinning Park. So much in common its Spooky.

    • braught back so many memories,i was born in carlton pl married and lived at gorbals cross we had great times with our neighbors the photos are great our window looked into the gents toilet at the cross we used toget a good laugh on a the saterday night with men coming out of the pubs it was good seeing our corner was the only one without a pub it was good seeing it thans gorbals boy. cisco423

    • Thanks for these photos. My dad was born in the Gorbals 1937. Lived on Cumberland St. Went to St. Francis. Sharing these photos with him has helped me understand his life a wee bit. We live in America now. Thanks again. Also, any info you may have on finding other info/pictures of the Gorbals or Govan (where my mom was from) would to terrific.

    • I was surfing to find old photos of the gorbals for my uncle who now lives in England and came across this wonderful site. I was born in Cally Road right opposite the cemetery gates (house no longer there) and was amazed by the photographs great work well appreciated!

    • magic album brings back loads of memories. i went to st lukes then to bonnies.i lived in st ninians st until 1969 then moved to hutchesontown i got married in st francis in 72.any more pictures

    • As an old Gorbals boy loved the photies. Born in Cally Road corner of Lawmoor st. so brought back many memories,Knottsies restaurant and Hutchie Square etc. Now living in Wales but go back as often as I can. Thanks a million Andy. DavieH.
