Thanks for these wonderful images of Craters of the Moon--also the three Cities of Rocks. I'll be in Idaho for three days next month and need to make some difficult choices. Your pictures have really helped. I love geology (it's my "religion"), so I was trying to decide if I could see the (Silent) City of Rocks and the Little City on the same day. There are 3 hours of driving between them, and Little City is a 5-mile hike, so it didn't seem possible. Did you find Little City to be the best of them? Have you ever been to Goblin State Park in Utah? Fabulous, virtually endless forms; highly evocative, mud-based.
