Thank you so much for sharing with the rest of the world your wonderful photos. You have captured people in a situation that horrifies the rest of us who cannot begin to understand the conflicts of war. It is my prayer and wish to all people that people will come to all. Be well my friend and to all people. Larry, New York City

Beirut is obviously a beautiful place. I, as a U.S. citizen, would like to apologize for our government's unwillingness to condemn the unwarranted attacks. Karen, Salisbury, N.C.

You have shown us aspects of the conflict we seldom consider, as reporters don't find them 'newsworthy'... the plight of one's pets and even stray animals, the longing and wonder of leaving behind dear and familiar places and faces, the hurry-up-and-wait aspect of an evacuation process. I know you must wonder if you will ever be able to return, and if you do, what changes you will see. We must pray that the eyes of our world's leaders will be opened, and that peace will prevail in ALL countries. Peace be with you and your loved ones.

Congratulations on having this timely album featured today. Politics aside, the innocent carnage and property destruction wreaked by both sides is deplorable. May peace be with those who are peaceful and the opposite to those that aren't. I don't think we are qualified to determine who is and who isn't innocent in this affair. The parties involved must solve their own problems. This will continue as long as there are peaceful citizens who do nothing to reclaim their communities from the people who are responsible for this violence. The same applies to all countries; these are difficult times for all. The violence must be stopped! karenlouise110 has apparently found what she thinks is the answer. She should apologize for her ignorance instead of our reluctance to get into another judgmental situation like the one we are in now! Jim in Hurricane, Utah, USA

Your photos touched me in a way that no amount of news coverage could have ever done. The faces tell the story: fear, sadness, uncertainty, the unknown of what tomorrow could bring. Suddenly, with the first attack lives have been turned upside down, hopes for a better future shattered. My only wish is that this horror will stop and soon! Nobody wins in a war. My heart goes out to all the victims of this senseless war, no matter what side they're on. Take care. Carmela, from the Bronx, New York.

My belated congratulations and appreciation for this superb body of work that you have created and shared with us on Webshots! These images are extraordinary on many human, as well as, technical levels. This is an important commentary and excellent unvarnished photojournalism. Thank you.
