  • Ken, I have often wished that I would have had a camera as a youngster, Thanks for the memories! I grew up on the Millinocket Lake side, even worked the wood drives, ages' ago, most glad they cleaned up the nature of the Maine Northwoods, Thanks for sharing again. paul

  • Hi Ken! I believe you had a really wonderful week! With such a magnificent landscape anybody can only be very happy in this place! I really enjoyed to see all the beautiful photos in this album. Thank you so much for sharing! And you are right: people around the world should be more busy in sharing beauty than in going to war! Thank you so much for your kind words in my Alentejo Fields album. All the best, Rosa

  • I fell in love with your pictures! Haven't gotten to this part of Maine, yet, but after viewing your pictures I want to go back and do that part of Maine that I missed out on before! You've captured the ambience of this breathtaking area and I'm sure you and other photographers have found this to be a paradise. Thanks so much for sharing these fabulous photos with us all to enjoy. I loved the composition and the colors are great! Oh, to feel that fog rolling out as the day wore on. Ah~ Yes, this is most definitely a place I'd love to see and will add it to my "to do" list! Margie (NE Wisconsin)

  • I have greatly enjoyed all of your albums, and particularly your Maine albums and your symmetry in Florida album. I have been intending to collect some of my nature photos into a "symmetry in nature" album and your album has inspired me to do so ASAP! Like you, I am a transplanted Maineiac (Bangor) who loves Maine and who has photographed many of the same places and scenes as you have, including Moosehead Lake. Luckily, I get to visit often. In fact, I just returned from there yesterday with a memory card loaded with photos. (Have you checked out the Maine exiles site...www.exiles.com?)

  • Hi Ken! Nice to see your vacation out of the context of stock! Gives a more personal feeling. What a great place Maine must be. Beautiful shots and makes me want to get out of hazy-lazy FLA! Take care and 'talk to ya later'. Eti

  • Hi Ken, Ed & Helen did a great job of naming lots of the special photos and I left 'footprints' under many. I hope you don't think me negative to ask about the color rings ... AND, it just dawned on me that it could be this monitor - and old one at my daughter's - that's causing them and not your photos at all. Bridget used this computer all through school and now that she's at Georgetown this is hardly used until Nana comes north. {grin} ... Anyway, I fly home tomorrow where it's cooler than here in the NY/NJ area!!! ... Bug hugs, Judy

  • Ken your “Lingering Sunset” is a marvelous 1st photo for this album – wow, what a gorgeous sunset. How did you get the star burst effect in “Sunset Sparkle”? I thought the camera needed a special filter for that effect – did you use a star burst filter? And where you standing to take the photo – it looks like you walked over from the catamaran sailboat (a sloop isn’t it?) and are standing on the water. “Day is Done” is another beautiful star burst image. The yellow light dancing on the lake is also a nice touch. You’ve captured a bunch of rapturous sunsets – “Glowing Clouds” is a great shot. Wow – “Sunset Rays” – what can I say. Every time I click on the next photo you’ve outdone the last. Nice ducks in “Ducks Quack Me Up”. Helen enjoys taking animal pictures better than any other. “Early Morning Sunrise” is outstanding. I love the colors in the water. Are they cloud reflections? How close were you to the Moose? I read an article about Alaskan Moose which said those critters are dangerous – both sexes will unexpectedly charge, and they are so huge that even the hornless females can do you great hurt. OK, I bite; in the “Humorous Lawn Ornaments” the lady is mowing, but what is the guy doing? I think I can guess, but I thought I’d ask just to be sure. EdandHelen/Albuquerque
