  • HI TED, WOW..THIS IS A GREAT ALBUM. I KNOW I WILL BE BACK TO VIST OFTEN. MY FAMILY HERITAGE IS FROM VIRGINIA AND I DO LOVE THE SOUTH. WHAT A PLANTATION..I WOULD LOVE TO SEE IT. DID I SEE MY FAVORITE GENERAL LEE IN ONE OF THOSE SHOTS. I AM A CIVIL WAR NUT AND GENERAL LEE HAD SO MUCH CLASS. PRESIDENT LINCOLN ASKED G. LEE TO HEAD HIS UNION ARMY AND HE SAID HE COULD NOT LEAVE HIS VIRGINIA BOYS! THANKS FOR THIS ALBUM. I USED TO SELL REAL ESTATE AND THIS HOUSE IS AWESOME..THANKS, BRENDA

  • Your albums are a wonderful example of the architecture and "feel" of Mississippi. I have seen mansions like this in the movies, but these photo's are much better. Mouse

  • Well, Ted, I don't know if Webshots is back to normal or is it just the quiet when all of you Americans are sleeping late on Sunday... ;-) Anyway I've manajed to view this album, and enjoyed another charming collection of Southern charms! Everything seems to have stayed just as it used to be in these stately plantations. You have captured the houses and nature around them very well, and your wonderful captions have added a nostalgic flavor. Well done, My Friend. Congratulations again for your FMOW award!! Have a wonderful Sunday and a great week!! Hugs, Orly

  • Ted, I'm glad you told me of your additions of the Houmas House interiors; they are simply GORGEOUS!!! I've saved several to my wallpaper folder. I LOVE the old kitchen shots ... and they're not 'shots' at all, they are superb photographs!!! ... I too, look forward to your next album! ... Bug hugs, Judy

  • Okay, here it is easy! This is the second album and some additions in the last half of the album. I admire your interior shots. They are incredible! Only in a very few pictures the light from the outside is influencing the capture, and darkening the image. Your pictures are very professional, Ted! It is not at all easy to take good inside pictures with as much details as you do. WOW! See you at the next album! - Galit

  • Au revoir! I hope - I can't get enough of this. You wanted CONSTRUCTIVE critizism, hmmm - how bout that: "they don't build'm like this anymore",LOL, unfortunately. Well it was worth coming back for the ghost alone, you should submit that to someone, it would cause quite a stir. The Provincial house is even more appealing to me than the main house, those kitchen shots are fantastic, actually my favourites.Really wonderful, Ted, have a great weekend, cajun friend!Marita

  • Took me awhile to get here, Ted, but I am no less awed by the beauty you have captured in this album. What fantastic plantations, from an era long past. Right up my alley, I love it. Beautiful photos, Ted. Alan

  • Hi my good buddy! Thank you so much for the invitation to view this incredible album! Having lived in Louisiana for five years, I have seen so much of its beauty and eaten so much superb Cajun cuisine. However, this was a great reminder of the elegance of the South and the resplendent history that accompanies it. My fellow Tennessean, Fred (below), spoke it very well. I am a history buff, and though the Civil War was a dark spot in our past, it also enabled all Americans to learn from the mistakes of our predecessors. There are no barriers except in the human heart! Your photos are a journal in time and the heart. Either my computer or Webshots is being a bit cranky today, and it will not allow me to make all the individual comments that I wanted. Webshots' server may just be too jammed, too. :) That surely could be the reason! Anyway, I will come back and finish my individual comments, but I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your skill as a photographer and the blessing of your friendship. You are amazing on both counts!! Blessings to you from a Southern heart. - Carole

  • Ted, what an amazing glimpse into the antebellum South, a history that has been somewhat suppressed by the desire to rush forward and leave behind the vestiges of the Civil War Era and its trappings of grandeur. Without political comment or judgment, you have given a truly objective look at some absolutely fine mansions, and at the same time, provided a valuable history lesson in the process. I could not be more impressed at this amazing album, one I know will be a feature in the near future. You've hit another grand slam, my friend. Congratulations. Fred in East Tennessee USA

  • Hello Ted. Wow! I am so impressed with the history you have given us in this album. Plus your photographic work is outstanding. I got so involved in wanting to see the next image that I would forget to leave a message! There are images that I really liked but you will find no message underneath! Excellent job and I would love to see this as a featured album. Thanks for coming by and leaving all those wonderful comments in my guestbooks and under my individual photos! Your comments are greatly appreciated. Hope you and Connie have a great weekend. Best wishes, Lynn

  • Thanks for the invite Ted, the spiral stairs pic is a masterpiece! :o) I liked a lot the inside shots... a bit less the outside house shots, too much white-on-white. You have not been lucky with the weather, maybe? With skies like that I tend to underexpose to save some sky detail... if you have a tripod, you can take 2 pics with the same subject but different exposures and then merge them with Photoshop (or similar software). Ciao! Roberto

  • Hi Ted, thanks for inviting me to this album full of history and full of incredible shots! I see how you enjoy to put it all in the right light and to use all what your new camera has to offer. Thanks too for all the information you added. As I came to look at this album I thought - at the first sight - it was already featured or I had missed at least a month after the opening. You must have gotten about 250 picture messages at the first day! Oh my dear Ted, you sure drowned happily in this flood of messages! Wait what you will get when this album will be on the front page of Webshots for a feature!!! :-) :-) :-D Thank you for your many, many messages in my albums and my photo messageboards. I am thankful that you even look at them. :-o Your comments are always detailed and you seem to understand all those thoughts that I couldn't put in words. I loved especially your comments in the 'end of day album'. Actually I was waiting for your 'judgement' as master of sky photography. I appreciate your comments so very much. I am happy you liked my creations. My son finished his quite long studies and began (at last) to work. A week ago he came back from a short holiday in Eilat together with his girlfriend, his sister with husband and Yoav. And then he told me that he HAS to talk to me and ask me to sit down!!! - What can one think in moments like that! - He told me something about my working hard through all those years blah, blah working two jobs blah, blah, blah . .and here is a little gift! I was shocked! It was a Canon S3 IS! I am still in shock. :-o So now I am back to school with that manual. :-) :-) Canon is a lot different, but very very nice! I love the zoom! I see, today I am talking too much. Ted, we are still fine. Maybe there will soon be an end of being in the news all the time. Some peace would be nice. Have a nice weekend, take care and thanks again and again! - Galit

  • I am so happy you made this elegant album, Ted. After Katherina last year, I had often wondered what happened to the irreplaceable Southern Plantations, whether they were damaged in the flood waters. Thank you also for providing us with the historical facts, it really makes us appreciate the images we're viewing! You have a wonderful weekend, cajun friend! (I knew you were up to something yesterday when I stopped by, but I guess you hadn't quite finished yet, in this case my horse was a little too fast, LOL).Big Texan Hugs. Marita

Your mailbox must be overflowing in such a short time, a token of appreciation from all who've seen these pieces of history. The longest time I've spent looking at an album! I see a feature in your future, Ted, and so well deserved. Thanks so much for the invite!.... Leslie

  • Hello Ted! Thanks for the virtual tour of the lovely mansions! They are, indeed, stately and make a strong pronouncement as life was in those days. It is from a different era and I can see the southern stamp in all three of them. You have taken special effort in taking us through the different rooms and chambers, which shows the period furniture etc. These are very good pictures and I enjoyed the album! Warm regards, Suresh

  • Ted, I've been here for an hour!!! This album is FANTASTIC beyond words and I'm afraid I've filled your Inbox with footprint notes. These huge old southern mansions are beautiful and you've shared them so lovingly. Your photos, as always, are magnificent, showing the gracious feeling of the homes. Too bad you couldn't take photos in the Houmas House but so be it. I can't imagine living in a house like that, nevermind having tour groups going through it while I it was my residence! Thanks for taking me along with you and your beautiful bride! ... Judy aka L@dybug<br> PS: It is an honor to be first to sign this guestbook!
