Sandy, my wife and I took the trip last year in April - we never enjoyed anything more! Your pictures are fabulous. I took a bunch, too. Your pic of the Perkinsville sign is almost from the same spot I took mine. Please inform 'haneveercoremanssh.... that How The West Was Won - the train scenes were filmed in and near my home town of Superior, Arizona. They used the Magma Arizona Railroad's old engine number 5 or 6 to film it. How do I know? I watched the runaway portion being filmed right up behind my house on High School Avenue. All those saguaro cacti you might have seen were plain, flat fake. There were no saguaros on that hill behind our house.
