Hello Gladys, how did I ever overlook seeing this album after you sent me an invitation. Lucky I'm clearing out my Inbox tonight, or I may have never got here. So many wonderful Banksias, and most of them new to my eyes. Such exotic plants, and your commentary adds an extra dimension of interest. Thank you for sharing these most excellent photos; best wishes, Keith.

Hi Gladys, what a fantastic collection of photographs of this unusual flower. I guess there are not many species that are so varied & can survive in those conditions. Great photos as well hope it achieves a feature for you. Lots on botanical info as well that shows you care about plants. Your mention of "laterite" in one photo rang bells with me, not heard of it for years but we used to have roads made of it in Africa. Eric

< Hi Gladys, This is a beautiful album with great images of these strange, exotic and colorful flowers topped off with interesting and informative text. The flowers look to be about watermelon size which, if my perception is accurate, makes them some of the largest flowers/racemes I have ever seen. I find it very interesting and convenient for photography that the individual flowers develop simultaneously and that all reach peak at about the same time. Others, like the Lupine, seem to develop serially with the bottom flowers well past peak by the time the top ones open. Greetings from Florida, Paul.

Hi Gladys! I was picking out favourites as I went through and came up with too many to name them all. The Scarlet Banksia got the nod ahead of the both the Siver and the Firewood Banksia. I liked the Holly Leafed Banksia as well and it is a different shape alltogether but still very pretty. Thanks for the invite mate! Catch you later. Hugs Al
