Album Description:

My introduction to classical music came through Mendelssohn's wonderful 'Overture to Fingal's Cave' - also known as 'The Hebrides Overture', which reflects perfectly the rugged, yet beautiful terrain and the moods of the sea. Unless otherwise stated these

  • Hello Kathryn. I watched this album as a slide show while listening to "The Hebrides Overture". It was wonderful. I enjoyed it very much.

  • This is not how I pictured the Hebrides, just love the beautiful white sand beaches....and my introduction to clasical music was Grieg's "Peer Gynt" suite when I was ten years old. I fell in love with classical music from that moment on.

  • Hi Kath, stopped by to take a peek at your Hebrides Album. You were right, I absolutely love the cliffy coast. I could not decide which rock I'd build on.....however,I'd rather build on the rock than on the sand.We all know how that ends.

  • Looks like a beautiful place in which to feast one's eyes. Thank you for your visit to my albums and many kind and generous comments Kathryn. The yellow flower you questioned is Rudbeckia or Black-Eyed Susans. I have, however, heard of them referred to as Brown-Eyed Susans on occasion too. They are very, very hardy and get out of control easily. I shall look forward to seeing your new photos taken at the Keukenhof this spring. I never seem to tire of photos from that beautiful place. Do they also plant for the rest of the summer season or just focus on their spring display only? Take care Kathryn. Kind regards, Gail
