An Afternoon in Alveley

Album Description:

Alveley is a quaint and pretty village about 15 miles from where I live. The reason for my visit was to show Gord who now lives in Canada, the hometown of his father, who as a boy was a bellringer in the local church here.

    • Did you see the floods on TV last week with railway line washed away? Think I have told you before but wife lived in a remote cottage on opposite side of river to Northwood halt as a child. Bad floods in 1947. Eric

    • Lovely little place and also full of history! If they do not have a presentation pamphlet, you might get into contact with the local tourist office or such and offer to cooperate in creating one! I bet tourists would be delighted to take with them such a lovely reminder!Enjoyed the show, my friend!Lots of hugs, Gabriela

    • Thanks, Jayne, for showing us beautiful Alveley. We love the half timbered houses that look so friendly with their white, especially with the blue sky in the background! Also the church is wonderful! We are late with visiting albums (vacations, see oertlif_3 if you have time), but we are happy to see that you don't leave the WS inspite of changes and bugs...! With love, Henri and Käthi

    • Hi,Jayne: What a wonderful album of my father's village. I wish he was still with us to view it. To say that I was delighted would be an understatement. The church photos reminded me of many stories that my father used to tell. Gord
