Hi Beth. I was just 18 years old when I first visited Amalfi. I was hitch hiking around Europe and was staying in a youth hostel in Naples. I took the bus from Sorrento and during the ride, taking in the awesome scenery, I remember then, that I had discovered paradise!! In those days, this area was nowhere near as commercialized as it is now, sad to say. Over the years I have made many, many more visits. None however, since I've had my digital camera. Anyway, back to your album... For me, it has been a wonderful trip down memory lane and I thank you for that. Glad you were able to experience the beauty with your own eyes. Take care. Beth, sei grande! Ogni immagine è bellissima, così come trovo sia bellissima l'aria quasi autunnale (anche se non nella giusta stagione) che si respira ammirando le tue immagini! La foschia accende di fascino questa meravigliosa costa e, seppure non abbia potuto fotografare i brillanti colori del mare sotto uno splendente sole estivo, la dolce atmosfera che hai saputo cogliere è veramente superba!!! Hi Beth, Everybody keeps complaining about the weather, and nobody ever takes action... See it this way: with a brilliant sun you can find thousands of photo's of the Amalfi coast, but with real life circumstances, one doesn't find very much. And then again: with an overcast sky, colours look more lifelike. I like your greens and blues.

Dejavu! I took the same photo in 2005 (see my Praiano & Paestum album) and I loved staying at Hotel La Perla. There were so many great photo ops in Praiano alone I spent a whole day just photographing there. I also loved meeting and talking to the townsfolk,(fortunately I do speak Italian).
