Album Description:
Most are from Europe; Grand organs fascinate me since my childhood and my greatest deception is to never have become an accomplished organist; I just can play by hear some classical toccatas or chorals but with undescribable hands contorsions!

A nouveau toutes mes felicitations, mon cher Jacques... A tres bientot. Martial

Congratulations on being featured today. I put on my Organ CD and listened to Bach's Toccata in D minor and Buxtehude - Prelude in C and Liszt's Prelude and Fuge on B-A-C-H and turned on your slide show and imagined myself in those grand buildings with this incredible music - a real uplifting treat!! Thanks for sharing your photos.

Jacques, there is no better divine music than from a good organ, played well. I am sure you'd have heard many of the featured ones in your album here. Since you also play the organ, it must have a special meaning and experience for you to be able to see the some of the rare and impressive ones. I have enjoyed this album even whe you came out with it the first time, as I know, it lies close to your heart. I had been to China for the past few days, and right now I am sitting in Hong Kong airport lounge. Wish you all the very best, Suresh

A very impressive collection! The walk through this album was all pleasure!! In my childhood my father restored the prospect, the outside of the huge Barock organ in my hometown's church in Germany. This gave me the love to organs. It was a lot of work and took weeks. At those times my 4 brothers, sisters and I were helping my father at work after school often till late in the evening. But I am just talking . . . . CONGRATULATIONS on being featured with this jewel! - Galit

I have been away from my computer, nursing myself away from a sporatic lowerback, which seem to be reoccuring with dramatic climate cycles, I do agree the outstanding collection of Organs do indeed complement the senses, once again you have displayed an interesting album, most enjoyable as with your visits, Thank you for sharing, as well congratulations! for your feature.Well deserving. paul

As one who is moved by the architecture of the great cathedrals, and by the majesty of pipe organ music, I had found your albums previously. But it warmed my heart to see this album featured today. The beauty of these churches and these musical instruments is a tribute to the depth of man's faith through the centuries. Their power and glory are captured by your camera, and even more by your heart, which must certainly be tuned to notes divine and harmonies sublime! Thank you so much for allowing us beautiful glimpses into these sacred spaces!

Congratulations my friends. I haven't seen any grand organ in a cathedral till now. In Vietnam, even the oldest and biggest Cathedral ( though was built by French ) doesn't have any of these kinda organs. I'm longing to see them in Europe. Thanks.

Great pictures here! I can put on a CD of French organ music and look at these pictures and imagine I'm THERE! I'm not the world's greatest organist, either. At least I get to play a real pipe organ in my church, but it's much smaller! (joan from terrynjoan)

Dear Jacques, thank you so very much for spending so much time on my Bavarian album and for your generous comments. They always mean so much to me as I greatly respect your views. I chose this album to write this because I thought of you when I saw the beautiful rococo organ in Wieskirche, Bavaria. I was not fortunate to hear it being played, but from what I hear it has a very melodious sound. I would be happy if you would add the photograph of that organ in this album (only if you so desire). Thank you once again. My best wishes to Pierre and you. Suresh

The beauty of the facades of these marvelous instruments hides the thousands of pipes necessary to create the angel sounds that come from these magnificent instruments. I have a cassette tape of the master E. Power Biggs, who plays some of the very instruments shown here. Thanks to you and your wonderful collection of fotos, I can view this album and listen to the magnicient sounds emminateing from them. I was minister of music for my parish church that has a 5,000 pipe organ, the comparison, of course is small, but I enjowed playing it immensely. I would give my heart to be able to sit at the ranks of these. Thank you so much for the opportunity to see them. Ron, Massachusetts

Bien cordialement. Didier. Rennes.

Hello Jacques, I came to visit as I saw your comment on todays feature as to where you are at this moment after 4 days in BA. I am following you in 10 days time but only 2 days in BA, off to the GWC fr Ush! Great photos in this album of a very unusual subject, you are very talented to be able to play at all. I am tone deaf! LOL. You will have to venture across the channel one day to see some of our great organs. Not only church organs but also in Norfolk there is a museum with many fairground organs & a wurlitzer. Eric

Hi Jacques! I really enjoyed your captions that went along with the Grand Organ photos. I played the piano and an organ for a few years at church, but the organ always caused me problems with my foot not wanting to follow the music!!! :-)) I'd have to play with my shoe off! Thanks for this beautiful album and also thanks for the kind comment on the photo from Telluride, Colorado. Glad you've been there. Sharon from Missouri

Dear Jacques and Pierre! I have already seen this album in Fotki and commented on this extensively. I think this is one of the best albums I have seen of the collection of organs from various parts of the world. I know much effort would have gone into compiling this. And, as usual, the captions are very illuminating. Thank you for posting it on the webshots too. Best wishes, Suresh

Ange
