Album Description:

A late October trip to Guadalupe Mountains National Park in Texas - in far west Texas about 110 miles east of El Paso. A nice 7.5 mile hike into McKittrick Canyon confirms that it is one of the lovliest spots in Texas. I have submitted 1600 pixel images

  • Hi Bill, I just now found an entry in my g/b that was left over 2 months ago with some beautiful verses that you left for us in regards to our daughter's illness. I can't thank you enough for your prayers and your encouragement. The Lord knows that I really needed these verses today & I just wanted you to know how much this has meant to me! The doctor will be doing an MRI on Feb. 20th to see how things are progressing. We're praying that everything will come out clean and that there has been no re-growth of the tumor. Thanks, once again, for holding Michelle up in prayer! God bless you, Lynn

  • Hi Bill, Outstanding color! I haven't seen color like this since I left the northeast. We certainly didn't have it in Dallas or now Florida. With that deep blue sky it looks like you used a polarizer. It does wonders for clouds and foliage too. I never travel out west without it. Great album! Greetings from Florida, Paul. P.S. Thank you for your very kind comments on my Bald Eagles album. The one thing I'm not pleased about those pictures is that in order to capture feather detail, I had to overexpose the image and that washed out the sky. I have tried to use Photoshop to change the sky, but have not been successful. In theory is should work just fine, but in practice it seems to be a nightmare. The problem is the foliage. It’s near impossible to get a clean selection. I have tried it with the “darken” option in the layers blending, but you get a very “digital” edge around the individual pine needles. It might work better if it was an oak tree, but I don’t thing Bald Eagles nest in anything but pine trees, at least not here in Florida.

  • Hi Bill, This is truely a great album, and ALL the photos are supurb. I sure wish my legs were up to a hike of this length. I see that you are using the 18-200 VR lens. How do you like it? Were these taken with it?
