At 1,943 ft. deep, it's one of the deepest in the world. It's 5 miles wide and ringed by cliffs 2,000 feet high. The lake rests in the shattered remains of a volcano called Mount Mazama, which erupted and collapsed into itself 7,700 years ago.

Thank you for sharing these photos. They are absolutely wonderful. Although I live in CT, I'm from Oregon and every picture tugs my heart. Yours are very special. Share some more of Oregon.

These are some of the best photos of our Sacred Lake, now known as Crater Lake National Park. This was a very special and Sacred Lake preserved by the Klamath Tribes of Oregon.

This must be the most photographed Crater Lake en yet all look so different. This is a very beautiful album Rick and I also like the views away from the lake. All those wooded areas without people, wonderful.I hope that the fire was soon under controle. Thank you for sharing this beauty. Greetings Marlene

This is another beautiful album. I love the blue lake color and the color of the mountains in contrast. I was reading the story of the volcano above, then it ended abruptly. There was a time WS had a problem cutting off the ends of our descriptions. It was happening to me too, but I think now is resolved. I'll sure be back to look more at your albums. Keep up your great work. ~Vickie~ in Canada.
