Peter, before I go look at your 3 new and wonderful, I'm sure, photos for this week I must tell you what a snow fence is! The snow usually blows in from the NW in our part of Minnesota. The fence is put in this part of the yard to keep the most of the drifts on the NW side of the fence, where all they will do is sit there and bother no one. If the drifts go past the fence, snow will pile up in the driveway, to the SE side. See? Simple. Too bad it doesn't always work. We hope it will work tomorrow!!!!!!!! Poor Clarence has to plow out the huge area in back by the shed, where we park the extra cars and back out of the garage, and then the long curvy driveway. He's really looking forward to that. Pismo Beach is on the Central Coast of California half way between Los Angelos and San Fransico. Wish I could say I live near there but it was a 8 hour drive from my house. About Slide Rock, which I mentioned earlier in my comments to you. You should look at Sharons (photoop) recent Scenes from the Southwest. She has a picture of Slide Rock in there.

We often visit a number of beaches on a trip. I thought Brian could do with some sea air even though he was a bit wobbly on his feet and tired. Those shots were Grange beach. We go to Glenelg sopmetimes but it is too busy there, Semaphore and Largs beach or just head South. It depends how much petrol we have left for the week and how much time we have. The interesting thing is that it looks so very different every time we go. Sometimes I take shots from a jetty but mostly I walk from one jetty to another and see what I can find. This was just a short walk for Brian. I am sure I would have trodden in your footsteps at some stage and visa versa.. thanks and hugs Peter

Hi Mate! Just got back from visiting my friends ranch for a few days when I found your invite. I poured myself a cuppa an just savoured the slide show - sloooowwly one awesome image at a time! Actually I have to be really honest I have been viewing many peoples 3 a week, including yours, but haven't been leaving messages...I've been enjoying the weekly w/s challenges but find I am spending way too much time with comments and too little time viewing. And I had really wanted to join the 3 a week but changed my mind. I want to concentrate more on albums again, making them and viewing them. And visiting old friends again, viewing their albums..I'll still participate and view & comment on the challenge entries but a lot more selectivly. I'll to have to divide my time more equally. I remember the time when we all fought so hard for w/s to remain a fabulous album site!Now I think the challenges and 3 week a wonderful but it is getting people away from focusing on albums more and more..Anyway, gotta unpack, and feed the tiger. Hi Peter - The Mariachis in my album are Mexican-American musicians. They are usually a quite large group, at least 6 or 7 and often more. The music is indigenous to Mexico and the songs are sung in Spanish. Although many from my family of origin live up North in Minnesota now, we hail from Arizona which is on the Mexican border. Peter, thanks ever so much you have made my day!!! Yes you are right the Ibis is very shy and spool very easily. I had to stay very still for a some time and keep out of sight. My lens was not long enough to get closer to the nest, that was as far as it would go. I was at the other side of the lake trying to get the nest which is about 8 or 10 feet wide! They are adult birds sitting on the top. The sticks they use are big ones. I might have to post another shot to put it into perspective I think as everyone thiks they are a small birds on a little nest., hugs Susan.

I appreciate all the rose info this week. I'm so glad so one can offer insite into my roses. I'm fortunate enough to know the name of only one rose in my garden. All three this week were from the first perfect rose out of one small bush. I would love to know the variety. The first in my group, dusty rose, was with a lighting filter. Nice effect but not the true color. The middle, dewdrops is the truest to the color.

Dear Peter, This will certainly turn out to be a wonderful album if you keep adding such gorgeous pictures. Thanks so much for coming by my bluebell album and for your very kind comments. We did indeed have a small Earthquake and I never thought I would be writing that. We just felt a slight movement and the tiles of the house made an really loud noise as they were moving but thats all we noticed We were then left wondering what on earth had caused it for a while till the news reports all started to come though. The worst damage was in Folkestone where a lot of chimney stacks were unsafe and about 70 -80 houses were unsafe to live in. So, replying to your question: well in Italy we call "Colombina" this white and pink rose but I think the names change with countries. I can say you that is blooming all the season, many times, with flower as beautiful as this one. It is a bush in the garden of our condominium and this year it is a little bit earlier. Warmest. HI Peter The sculptures are made out sand that they use on building sites and after the exhibition is sent to building sites to be used in construction. They spray it with some coating to hold it together in the weather and we have had some rain and it is satrting to crumble as it has been on for a month and closes tomorrow. I am sorry i never went at the begining. I am hopless at building anything and failed sund building early in the pice so never tried but did watch someone do some repairs. I am staying awake to watch the cricket but think I will be asleep soon. Have a great week...Sandra

Peter, sorry I can not post a message to you, only friends can it. My yellow blossom- ball, it is not a dahlia, it bloom at a bush and the blossoms are about 2,5 - 3 cm little. Hi Peter Thanks for visiting my album and you are right it was a terrible accident it was between a small wooden cruiser and a River Cat none of which are in the three. They still haven't found the 14 year old girl ,3 people died and an ice skating champion had part of her leg amputated. I went to the Harbour yesterday to get some shot and it was a beutiful sunset and you would never know the tradgedy had happened the day before. Sydney harbour seems to get more crowded everyday. Ihope yoy have a great week you live in such a beautiful place and I hope to go west one day...Sandra
