Album Description:
The lamp in the Yaquina Head Lighthouse's 93 foot tower was lighted in 1873. It has the tallest tower of all of the Oregon Lighthouses and sits 162 feet above the Pacific. The lens is a first order fresnel that is now lighted with a 1,000 watt bulb.

I visited Newport in June, and fell in love with both these lighthouses. You did a great job capturing the romance of these two lights. Keep up the great work.

This is so light inside! I have a problem with the inside of lighthouses being fairly dark. Thanks for your great comments in my Hatteras Lighthouse album! My favorite lighthouse is Currituck- maybe you will visit that album, too. ;-) I have photographed a 4th lighthouse, but haven't had time to edit the photos. Seeing your album makes me want to get to it! ~Jade

This is a beautiful album and so fitting, since they just reopened the lighthouse after the renovation. I feel so lucky to live so close to this park, right across the street from it, so this album makes it a special for me, thanks!!!! i just posted three photos about this lighthouse in my 3 for a week album, if you're interested, also have several albums of the Oregon coast. Will visit all your other albums soon, Trudy(Newport)

Like the lady said below, another beautiful collection of shots. There's a few more lighthouses, eleven I think, on the coast of Oregon you could shoot in your many wanderings. I only wish to photograph the inside of the Cape Arago lighthouse, but that's such a private piece of land, it would take a miracle to view it up close and personal. If you ever get the chance, take as many photos as you can, then update me on your new album. Thanks for tour with your excellent shots.

You outdid yourself on this one. I am so impressed with this lighthouse and the surrounding land and seascape. We have yet another snowstorm this week so I can only look and sigh over these lighthouse photos - my treks are going to have to wait. LOL Very best regards from West Michigan, DeeAnne
