Album Description:
Tagtag is a traditional ritual to protect the rice crops from rats, pests and other evil vibes. It involves a great number of Ifugao men clad in traditional Ifugao attire marching along the rice terraces while chanting & beating wood planks in synchrony.

My Dear Friend Mary Ann, This is a wonderful album about the rich tradition of the Tagtag Teams and the blessing of the rice fields. How I miss so many aspects of life in Philippines. Thankfully you do a great job of capturing photos of all the things about PI that are dear to my heart and it eases my moments of "homesickness" when I look at the photos you have posted here at Webshots! Thank you for this journey home and for all the others that you have posted to your homepage of WS albums! Take care, you are always in my prayers, thoughts and heart. Jodi

I love everything You do--It's an inspiration to Me. Some of the rituals are similar to the Cherokee people about 60 miles from Me. I have Indian ancestry in my past and it kindles the Spirit of "CONNECTION" to our world and those that share that connection, whether it be photos or living it!--Thank You Mary, I look forward to more.------CRAZYWOLF77

Mary Ann, This ritual is striking, in color, dress and dance. Most of the dancers that I could see are of the older generation, any reason the younger generation isn't more involved? Thank you for your invitation to view. My best regards to you and yours. ron/oregon coast
