Album Description:
This petite, beautiful circular park of moss-covered stone - with a lovely chapel in the middle and a favorite site for weddings - was a cemetery until it was declared a national park in 1966. 2 concentric walls served as burial niches - now not in use.

Dear Bong, It thrills me to know that these pictures help you reminisce the childhood times you spent in this lovely place. Your remarks make it (photo-taking) all worthwhile. God bless you, my friend. ~~~Mary Ann

Hello, Maryan! You have captured the beauty of that simple park. I have been there once when we had hands-on wedding photography during our one-week Photoworld Manila seminar a some years ago, and I was fascinated to see that park for the first time. Sadly, I was not able to take pictures of it's every corner since all of us delegates concentrated on the bride-and-groom models for wedding photos, which was my interest back then. Good you have this album to refresh my memory how the park looks like. And you did a good job in showing us the beauty of the park. Thanks so much.

Unique among Manila's landmarks, Paco Park is quite possibly the only one of its kind in the world. A former cemetery, the construction of which was completed in 1820, it consists of two circular structures containing tiers of niches (now empty) that were once used for interment. On top of both stone structures are galleries along which the visitor can take a leisurely stroll to better admire the tranquil beauty of the park. A National Historical Shrine, Paco Park serves as the venue of Paco Park Presents, a yearlong series of free concerts/cultural events held every Friday evening. Information by Wcities
