  • Hi Henri and Josee, A very happy New Year to you both! This has been a very pleasant History lesson. I wish that the Internet had existed when I was a schoolgirl. I am sure that I would have got better marks for History with albums like this one, which bring it to life. The portrait of Napoleon is spine chilling. In many ways he reminds me or Putin or perhaps it should be the other way about, as Putin was born much later. I do not fancy the Duke of Wellington (the Iron Duke, as he was known) much either. These men might have been very rich and powerful, but it does not necessarily follow that they were good husbands and fathers and it is the good husbands and fathers who make the world go round and make it fit to live in, not tyrants whose main goal is self aggrandizement no matter what the cost. Thank you very much for creating this interesting album. Warm wishes, Kathryn

  • Thanks for the pictorial history lesson. We even learned about this battle in history but it remained an abstraction. Did not realise how many soldiers were involved. Faul

  • Hello Henri & Josee thank you for this photo journal and the history lesson on the tour around the battlefield. If the rain ever stops I will take you on a trip around Bosworth battlefield. This was the most influential of English battles during the war of the roses; it was fought in 1485 between Richard 111 and Henry Tudor. Best wishes to you both and thanks for sharing Paul.

  • Hi Henry. Sorry for being soooo sllloooooowwwww to stop and to thank you.The last few days have been wonderfully crazy and exciting! What a thrill not only to be able to enjoy this wonderful city and capture it’s beauty but also to be honoured to win the challenge, especially with ALL these INCREDIBLY talented people entering , and have this Magical Moment on the Thames at night featured! I am so awed by the number of people I’ve never heard of or seen for that matter who stop and leave nice messages, but there are none more special than the ones which come from good friends (and challenge buddies) such as you :D! Thanks so very much, I am happy you enjoyed it too! I am sorry we didn't get a chance to meet on my one crazy and rainy day in Brussels but I have the feeling we will, maybe soon, when I come back to Germany and have more time! Have a fantastic weekend! Marita

  • Oh, oh, Henri & Josee. I don't dare say this - but we were in Brussels on the same day! Unbelievable! I came down for 1 day from London on the Eurostar and it was cold and rainy. And I was even thinking of you two but the uncertainty of our travel plans didn't allow much for making plans with people. I was supposed to meet a friend from Germany in Brugge but then we had to change our plans. Such is fate, we almost met, maybe we did and didn't know if you went to town. I have visited Waterloo previously, a friend lived there close to the battlefield. I enjoyed my re-visit in your album. I hope you are both doing well! Marita

Groet, Tjebbe
