Hi Dee Anne- saw your comment on another memberpage and that you love lighthouses. So do we (my hubby Gary and I). We live in Connecticut but have been to visit your beautiful Michigan 2 times, most recent last August. We have visited more than 250 US lights and have many photos of these in our webshots albums. I love the subject you are bringing here. lighthouses always made me curius. ( As big ships and fast boats and cars and plains....) Hi Dee, thanks for your comments on my Old Cars album. I very much appreciate them. I almost didn't know which of your albums to look at; you have been really busy here lately, but this one really caught my eye, and it is a beautiful set of photos. I've got to get out of my little corner of nw MI and see some of these myself. And don't apologize for bad weather-you know the old cliche - bad weather makes good photographs. Keep it up. I greatly enjoyed your tour of the Lake Huron lighthouses!! We moved to Midland when I was five and as a family we didn't visit Lake Huron or the lighthouses. My parents always gave the reason for not going there that Lake Huron was dirty. ??? Instead we drove the 125 miles to Ludington. I guess they always thought of Lake Michigan as "their" lake. Both of them grew up and married in the Ludington area and all their siblings remained there. I did spend some time in the early 60's in the thumb area with some of my nursing school buddies... but I don't remember anything about the lighthouses. It is so nice that they have been restored and are maintained as historical areas!
