Hi Susie! Thanks for inspiring Bob and me to drive down to this park. We went to Pere Marquette State Park on Saturday (that's north of St. Charles on the Illinois side of the Mississippi River) and was surprised at how pretty the fall foliage was. So on Sunday, we drove down to Meramec Spring Park. It was pretty and very interesting (especially Bob enjoyed seeing the trout), but the fall foliage was beyond peak, but the weather was just perfect, so we really enjoyed the day! Then yesterday, we went to MBG, but I was so disappointed with the fall color there. The roses were still doing good, but we walked over 2 miles around the gardens and just enjoyed what was probably one of the last warm days of the autumn season, so I really shouldn't complain. Each year is a different challenge for the fall foliage and this year hasn't been a good one! I'm glad the water lilies were still blooming for you last week at MBG. They were pretty shot yesterday and I was surprised that they hadn't cleaned the ponds out yet, but they have so much work to do there, I don't know how they get it all done! I was wondering what you had seen at MBG when you visited and hope the next time that you get up there that you will let me know you're going to be there and we can meet you out there! I am pretty much back to normal from my surgery and couldn't believe I was hiking and running around all over the place only 2 1/2 weeks after surgery! The wonders of modern medicine! Hugs and thanks for all your comments, Sharon

Hi Susie! I'm going to look this website up now! I've heard of some men from the St. Charles area going down there to fish when trout season starts each year. They stand out in all kinds of really cold weather, lined up side by side, fishing for trout! I'd just like to see this place when it's nice and quiet like it was when you were there! And I'd love to see what the cafe was like! Can't go without my lunch! Ha! Really enjoyed the album, Susie! Hugs, Sharon

Congratulations, Susie, on your views, and for creating this lovely album. I'll be back to view it when I get more time. I've been trying to create an album from the Southwest from photos I took in May--think I'll finally get around to it. :-) Hugs, Sharon
