Album Description:

This is the first of many Australian albums that Keith was my untiring guide on. We started out on a trip to Berrima from Sydney, got sidetracked in Mittagong, and headed down to the caves. See Comment below :-)

  • I am impressed to you have been down here to visit this wonderful country. Haig, I am still smiling.. imagine thinking they would be open after 5pm. That would be knock off time everywhere surely :-) You have managed to see such a small part of our country so vast and so diferent in each and every state that we have parts of the whole worlds scenery and variety of climate here. So glad you had MagiKeith as a guide it makes all the differnce to have a local on hand. Loved the album and of course the subject matter..hugs Susan in South Australia

  • Hi Haig! Enjoyed your wonderful captures of our Australian scenery and wildlife in these 'post-card perfect' shots. Lovely landscapes make great viewing, you have found so many interesting details in our Gum Trees, the kangaroos are truly adorable, and the rock formations and colours of the caves give endless opportunities to the photographer. Even the dreaded Pattersons Curse adds pretty colour to a picture, but unfortunately our ancestors had no idea of the disastrous consequences that would result from the foreign species they introduced. Obviously you had a great day out with magikeith and thankyou for sharing your photographic memories of this trip to the caves. Best wishes.. Gladys, Western Australia.

  • Hi Haig, I went through your album twice, and viewed each photo on both passes. The second time I commented on individual photos, and forgot to leave a comment on the album itself. It's a faithful record of the places we visited that day, and the things we saw (but where are the power pylons?). It takes an Aussie eye to see the wildlife, even though they mostly vanish into the bush before the lens cap is off the camera. Haig's visit was the perfect opportunity to take him to interesting and beautiful places, and a reason for me to take hundreds of photos. Sharing the photo experience is more than half the fun, especially with a photographer of Haig's calibre. For his kind words, I say thanks; it was my pleasure. To all who visit here, I hope you enoy something of what was a truely great day out in the bush.

  • MagiKeith had not visited the Wombeyan caves either, so in a way it was a perfect time to go there for a photo shoot. Unfortunately, that dusty little road down to the Wollondilly River, and the caves, was extremely hazardous for anyone toting a camera. We stopped constantly to admire the countryside, and take photos. When we finally arrived at the caves, it was past 5 pm, and it was too late to visit. We mucked around the exit to the caves, pestered some wild kangaroos who were trying to have a quiet dinner, found a beehive high up in the rocks, and eventually made our way back to civilization via Taralga and Goulburn. A much better road, but one also frequented by wombats etc... Keith I'd like to add is the soul of hospitality, and a superb photo companion. He is very quick to spot a lot of wildlife that would go unnoticed, and has a very good eye for photographing subjects that are "difficult" shall we say. I can't remember the last time I had as much fun taking pictures, as I did on this trip to Sydney. Thanks!!!
