  • Hello Eric I enjoyed this album very much. You seem to know this place best! It is amazing how a place changes by the weather, by the hour of the day and by the seasons. No, you didn't tell me before that the Africans use to pick the young leaves of Hibiscus to make a relish for their maize porridge. So has every place its use for the trees and flowers. Once we had a small garden with a lot of wine all over the fence. Since then till today (the house with the garden was sold 20 years ago) I have many Persian friends. They came to ask if they could pick some of the leaves of the wine. No one ever hurt the plant itself, no one took too many leaves. There was enough for everyone. Later they taught me how to fill those leaves and turn them into delicatessens. No one ever forgot what a wonderful time it was. So plants provide friendship! :-) I so much loved your entries in my last tree album! Also thanks for the many entries in my other albums. I am happy those flowers could lighten up a cold winter day. I wish I had more time to answer you a bit earlier. Have a great day! - Galit

  • Dear Eric, What a wonderful place Thornham is it reminds me very much of a place called Oare Marshes that we visit sometimes. I do hope you get your frost to take pictures of you are certainly forecast it but if you are close to the coast that often protects you or it does us anyway. Thanks so much for your visit to my frosty morning album I'm hoping for a frost first thing tomorrow again so lets see if I can get some more pictures or if I can get up early enough. I'm still one very busy girl on the decorating front mind We've builders in next week doing lots of work repairing damage where we had leaks but I've also more albums to get online soon too which hopefully I will very soon just not enough hours in the day right now. Hope you are keeping well and enjoying this wonderful spell of weather we are having. Take care now, Jill

  • Glad I stopped by this morning and got a chance to view your beautiful album! Another one of those "real special" places that you seem to have a few thousand laying around of in your parts...an inspiring spot, skillfully captured! Have a great day! Marita

  • Hi Ho Eric!!! Thanks for reminding me that I am not the "fastest gun" in the West anymore (well, in the Southeast I guess). Getting old, mate...thanks for peeping at my sunrises, I guess they finally showed up on the display page this morning, the winners were already anounced I see, too...Honestly I really don't seriously enter to win, don't take much trouble in selecting images...only enter when a challenge them strikes my fancy...just don't have very much spare time any more for comments etc...

  • Hi Eric: most interesting report on a place "ordinary people" certainly do not know (?), but which would merit it by its multiple aspects and history! Thank you for sharing! Best wishes: Kaethi and Henri
