OLD BARNS of KENTUCKY *featured album*

I was prepared to have a visit to several of your albums, but WS is acting up tonight. I can open the album page, but see no photos. Finally, this one appeared to view. I will come back to view others another time. I see a beautiful bunch of photographs I want to look at. This album is no exception Ruth, well done. I do love the ol' barns, they are a testiment of a way of life that has passed us by, and they have become a part of our history. I always enjoy seeing them preserved in photographs such as these. Congratulations on your FEATURED home page album. Old barns in farm country just seem to have a draw, I think the first question us cityslickers ask is why don't they repair them? But, the older they are, the more in disrepair the more interesting each individual structure becomes. Well done album, John

Hi, Ruth- Congratulations on being featured! So many old barns; it's sad to think of how important they were, and now they sit until they fall down. Turning them into rustic furniture, frames, etc. has become a minor local industry.

What great shots. I live in Michigan and I've been taking pictures of barns for years. I have them in an album titled, "Lord, I Feel So Useless." I like to take barn pictures because they are slowly becoming something from the past. I want my grandchildren to be able to see them when they are older. Thanks for sharing!

Love this album of barns Ruth. Having been to a barn raising when I was quite young, I know how much work it takes to build one. These are the original wooden barns and have aged beautifully.
