Album Description:

Acclaimed as one of the finest beaches in Asia, the 4-km White Beach is situated at the western coast of Boracay island. But the eastern side has fine beaches, too. Water is shallow & its sand brighter & finer than most beaches in the Philippines.

  • Hi Maryan - this is simply stunning. My late parents are both from Aklan & of course as a child I've been there a few times b4 the beauty of Boracay was ever known. I need to take a trip back one day. Haven't been back since I left in the late 60's. Hmmmm, it seems time to take that visit ;)

  • Thanks for sharing these wonderful pictures of your trip to Boracay. It seems like everybody I know has been there, and now I have, because of these pictures. The color is vivid and the clarity is impeccable in each photo! My favorite shots of course are the sunset shots because I am partial to the drama of the sun kissing the horizon and spreading its warm saturated color as it goes down towards infinity. Consumatum Est! Bravo, Mary Ann.

  • The beaches of the Boracay Island is located off the north-western tip of Aklan province in Panay Island, Philippines. The island of Boracay is 7.5 km long and 2 kilometers wide. The popular powdery 4-km White Sand Beach (which take up most of the western side of the island) is where most of tourist go to see and be seen. Boracay Island has electricity and piped water and has grown into an international tourist hub with 20 dive sites, scores of bars and restaurants, native tattoo parlours, banks, a fire department, and a police station. Aside from scuba diving, snorkelling & sunbathing, a common sight round Boracay Island is sailing on slender hulled boats called Paraw. Passengers occasionally seat on a webbing area between the outrigger supports. They can be hired for trips round the island, a wonderful experience if you don't mind getting wet. The nightlife of Boracay is very lively with the numerous clubs and bars spanning the whole stretch of the beach. To the golf enthusiast, there is the 18 hole, par 72 golf course at Filinvest's Fairways & Blue Waters. It is a first class club and hotel located a short distance from the beach. A nice place to picnic during the day and do some diving or snorkelling is Crocodile Island. There are also Bat Caves to explore on the northeast coast of Yapak and at the southern end of Bulabug Beach, there is Sunken Forest to discover. ~~~Taken from http://www.philsite.net/boracay.htm
