  • Many times I have driven by this little marker, meaning to stop and take a picture. Love your walk through history. My husband (construction superintendent) built the Museum in Gainesville where the cabin now resides. Great pictures! I found this from your featured photo last week, congrats.

  • A PEACEFUL WALK. I LOVED THE FIREPLACE WITH THE ROCKERS. IT SEEMS LIKE THEY ONLY WENT OUTSIDE FOR A BREATH OF FRESH AIR. THERESA

  • Jim, Such an interesting walk this weekend. I'm really curious about the raised house. Was it originally built off the ground or did they do that with the move? You did a super job on this walk. Gloria

  • Nice walk, Jim, although it makes me ashamed to think how the original owner was treated.

  • Lovely walk. It was sobering but also enlightening.

  • Love your walks in the past. We have come a long way since that time, but we are not necessarily better off. The craftsmanship of the homes, the tools, and the furnishings is wonderful, and the time they took to make each piece lovingly, has been lost in this day and age.

  • Good morning, Jim. I like your history walks. Your picture of the room without light got me to think what it would be like if we lost all electric power around the world even if it were for only a few minutes. It's hard to imagine, isn't it?...Scott
