Album Description:
Most folks tend to wax poetic at sunset time, & I am no exception. For WS friends who deeply love sunsets, I dedicate this album. The collection of these Manila Bay photos is made more poetic by Emily Pauline Johnson's work, "At Sunset".

It is amazing how the colors in sunsets in different places in the world are so different. I love your sunset pictures--some people only see the particulants in the air that make the lovely colors, but I prefer to enjoy them for what they are--beautiful and gorgeous! I have added more AZ sunset pictures on my site. Thanks for your comments--they are much encouraging to this novice.

You have certainly portrayed a feeling with this lovely album. What you gave me - quiet, tranquility, serenity, calm, and the deepest feeling of peace in my soul.

These sunsets are just beautiful, there is nothing better than a glass of tropical fruit juice and a deck chair to sit and watch a sunset. This album is lovely. When you have some time please have a look at some of my albums. Take care and may God Bless you and your family.

Dear Mary Ann, Having grown in Manila, when I think sunset, I think Manila Bay. The romantic poem of the celebrated Canadian poet Emily Pauline Johnson aptly fits this album among your other "obra maestras". I look at sunsets and immediately recognize that I am looking west towards the land where my heart lies. Now I am waxing poetic. See what sunsets do to me? The pictures are exquisitely beautiful! Again, thank you my friend for sharing. God bless!

AT SUNSET by Emily Pauline Johnson 1- Tonight the west o'er-brims with warmest dyes; Its chalice overflows With pools of purple colouring the skies, Aflood with gold and rose; And some hot soul seems throbbing close to mine, As sinks the sun within that world of wine. ~~ 2- I seem to hear a bar of music float And swoon into the west; My ear can scarcely catch the whispered note, But something in my breast Blends with that strain, till both accord in one, As cloud and colour blend at set of sun.~~ 3- And twilight comes with grey and restful eyes, As ashes follow flame. But O! I heard a voice from those rich skies Call tenderly my name; It was as if some priestly fingers stole In benedictions o'er my lonely soul. ~~ 4- I know not why, but all my being longed And leapt at the sweet call; My heart outreached its arms, all passion thronged And beat against Fate's wall, Crying in utter homesickness to be Near to a heart that loves and leans to me.
