Album Description:
Shooting the rapids of Pagsanjan River is exhilirating since it was my first to ever do so. It's a lazy, relaxing version of whitewater rafting. And I loved every minute of that 2-hour experience! Got the smiles to prove it!

Hello Mary Ann, the scenery is fascinating and beautiful, the vegetation is extraordinary in his foliage and in intense green, the work of the rowers is incredible. It is like to say: It is necessary to see it to believe it. Thanks for this beautiful trip, Mary Ann. I have enjoyed the deep beauty of your country across your photos. Best regards dear friend. Hi Mary Ann, this is one eco trip that I have not done yet. I had a chance to do it in 1977 and for some reason or another, I did not get past the market that sold the sweet lansones fruits. I just don't remember exactly what happened. It looked like you had a fun vacation and your photos make your visitors want to go there now. Your photos are so vivid that I felt like I was in a banca myself. So I want to make sure I make that trip next time I go there. My list is getting kind of long. Thanks for sharing this beautiful album, my friend. Regards, Ding

Situated not more than 3 hrs from Manila, visitors have flocked to cozy little town in Laguna, Philippines to see the famed Pagsanjan Falls. What most don’t know is that aside from the Falls, it’s actually the journey to get there & back that makes the destination all the more memorable. Everything starts in the town plaza where you can get a canoe ride for 660 pesos. Take-off would be from any of the local resorts. Each canoe has 2-3 passengers plus 2 boatmen who navigate & steer. The 2-hr ride to the Falls will take you to a series of upstream rapids - 14 in all - as the 2 boatmen squeeze you through huge boulders amidst strong current & oncoming boats on their way down from the falls! The boatmen themselves are fascinating as they deftly hop from one side of the canoe to the other running over huge rocks or on cliff walls as they agilely guide the canoe through the narrow passages of the gorge. In between each rapid is a pause where they paddle across calm waters. It is here where you can really appreciate the scenery as you would be surrounded by tropical vegetation growing from 300 ft high rock cliffs situated on both sides of the river. A humbling experience, as you suddenly realize that you are witnessing the handiwork of a thousand years that Nature sculpted over this grand & live canvas. After braving the rapids, the Falls itself is a sight to behold! You can’t help but feel refreshed by the cold & clear waters splashing onto your body while a bamboo raft takes you right under the Falls for an additional 20 pesos. Inside the Falls is a cave where you can rest while listening to the soothing sound of falling water. And just when you think that you’re done, here comes the best part! If you thought the ride up was fantastic, the journey home from the Falls is even much better as you & your boatmen can expect a wild ride down the rapids.
