  • Dear Mr. Bittner, I just want to take a minute to tell you how much both of you albums containing photos of the National Cathedral mean to me. I first went there as a college sophomore in January 1971 with an art history class and learned the difference between English and French vaulting, etc. I have loved the building ever since. At the time I was first there, it was not yet completed and I have not had the ability to visit since the late 80's. I thought of you on Tuesday during the Gerald R. Ford funeral at the cathedral. You are a lucky man to be a docent there and to have frequent access to such a beautiful and inspiring place. I am now a Quaker woman from Philadelphia so such beauty has no place in my worship, but I can appreciate it all the same. My best to you in hopes of more pictures, Karen - elizab0318@netzero.net

  • Andrew, I am a composer of sacred music. You may have heard of my hymn "Here I Am, Lord." My three original colleagues in sacred music and I are celebrating our thirtieth anniversary of service to the church. An anniversary coffee table book is being created and published as a momento of this milestone. We would love to use one of your stained glass images on one of the pages. Your work is magnificent. How would we go about securing your permission to use the photograph titled "The Church Triumphant" in the book. How would you want the credit to read? What kind of fee would you ask? • Welcome to Webshots. I very much enjoyed looking at your photos. Thanks for your kind comments about my photos. I have corrected the error in my captions as you suggested. I spent a very memorable day at the Cathedral one Sunday in May 2003.
