A truly fascinating album Eric, we have a ploughing competition here in Burton every year it's fascinating to watch the techniques these guys use to lay a hedge. One about half a mile long has just been done near here at Catton Hall. I am hoping that I can meet up with you some time this year. I saw a bird new to me well most are to be honest, any way it was a smew, here on croxall lakes where I do my voulinter warder thing. Any way it was a real pleasure to view and see the crafts in this album . Best wishes Paul

What an education right here in this album Eric. Fascinating and with visual aids; I would never have known about such things had I not ventured here. While I'm at it, thank you for visiting my featured album "River Dance: The Slideshow" and your kind congratulations. It was much appreciated; best wishes from Keith.

Wonderful album! I have had a wonderful day in Sandringham with you!! Thankyou for sharing such a joy! The hedgelaying is so impressive, the horses are magnificent, having horses myself I love to drive them. Thanks for sharing. Jules in Norfolk.

Hi Eric: it's quite an art, hedgelaying, and hard work - we never thought at that - typical for spoiled citizens! No doubt it's your roots that lead you to "terre à terre" subjects. Admirably well presented, in didactic as well as photo-art sense - school and college classes would have been fanatic followers! Thank you for this outstanding exposé! Kaethi and Henri

Hi Eric - A lovely album thank goodness these skills are still in use, do you think we will all revert to horse power in the not too distant future? The Shires are all magnificent, obviously well cared for and enjoying their moment in the sun! Thank you for a lovely day out! Margaret.

Dear Eric, This album is fascinating and you clearly know your tractors and engines so wondering if your father was a farmer. All those straight furrows must take so much skill not like all these computerised machines these days! I had no idea there were so many different styles of hedgelaying but of course it makes sense now I think about it and would depend what plants grow best in different places too I would imagine. You didn't really think I was gone did you? Thanks for stopping by my new album I will always try to keep a little bit of my time for Webshots too although I fear a lot of our friends have finally gone elsewhere :o( Hope you are keeping ok. Take care now, Jill

Hello Eric, great lot of photo's,it makes a good addition to your other albums.... some of the work and differant styles that the hedgelayers carried out realy does add to the pleasure of being able to enjoy our country side, when the hedge was being laid behind our exhition area at the event it sure did let the draught in,
