Album Description:

Râşnov Fortress is located on a rocky hilltop in the Carpathian mountains, 200m above the town of Râşnov, Romania. It was built by the Teutonic Knights in the 13th century and was in use till the 19th century. Dedicated to Connie [coni_fer01].

    • Well...I must admit they made fantastic reconstruction work here....for the sake of tourism, of course! There were only ruins covered by weeds in the late 70ies! And now.....what a difference!     • Hello Yair, I looked at the slideshow of this album and another great and beautiful album of Romania.You have a lot of nice and good compositions in this album. It'was very intersting to read your information. It must have been a great stay in Romania. It's perhapr a little late but thank you but thank you for your visit to my albums.You had question about the art on the beach.Yes you can see it all days of the year. You talked about me wanting to use some of the pictures for a painting. Yes I would .I would like to have the second last one.nr 37 the same narrow street but now later in the day.The shadow is so beautiful !!!! I would like to make it for you ,if you want.I.m at the moment working on a big painting 120 x 100 of a Zwedish window and painting it with Acrylic. Have a nice week and good wishes Ida

    • Hello Yair! The fortresses which have a town within are always quaint, romantic and offer a fabulous treasure for a skilled photographer. The Râşnov fort is a case in point. What a delightful place this is! And, completely deserted virtually giving you a free run of the place. Your photographs bring out every nuance and every important perspective of the city within the fort. This is my kind of place.
