Beautiful album! Judging by the scars in the ice a lot of people use these "water ways". I didn't know that iceskating is such a big deal in the Netherlands. I enjoyed the pictures, thanks for sharing! Ulrike

Annie, this is a beautiful album! It looks like many were out there on their skates, enjoying a beautiful, sunny day. In places it looks like there is water at the edges; do people fall into the frigid water? ... These photos made me think of "Hans Brinker and the Silver Skates." We have a 1905 edition of the book that Mike's great-uncle illustrated. It's a family treasure. Hugs, Judy
