Great additions Jayne :-) I don't know why I never commented on this album before because I've been enjoying it from the start. And every time I photograph a phone box or post box now I think of you! Hugs, Beth

Perhaps you could help out this site. http://www.englishphoneboxes.com/ The newer phone 'boxes' just don't have the same 'ring' to them, do they? I saw a really good phot once of a whole bunch of them all laying in a row, I should look for that photo, you'd love it! Hugs, Leslie

I've enjoyed your telephone box photos all along, Jayne! They photograph so well against the plainer colours of the streets. I hope you keep this project going for a long while! Hugs, Leslie

Hi Jayne, I see your album is expanding nicely and that you’re keeping an eye on my red phone box pics. Thanks for your nice comments and the vehicle in the Luxborough picture is not mine. I took that shot back in 2006 and had forgot about it. I found it by chance while browsing through my albums. Did you check out that link that I gave you as regards Telegrams? Best wishes. Tony.

Jayne, In a coincidence, The Christian Science Monitor published an article on Monday, March 23rd, called "Britons rally to save history in a red box." Great work as always! @

Well done on this album Jayne, red boxes have all but gone from my area and a silly little half shell in its place. Anyone waiting can hear what you are talking about , no privacy at all and the appearance is unattractive as well. Vandals ruined the old ones and now we are stuck with what they really can't damage a lot. Good album and good subject.,. Hugs, Shirley

You are certainly expanding this album with some superb shots. Since I met up with you on WS and you gave me your suggestions, I look more intently now for phone boxes and pub signs. Thanks for that Jayne. Tony.

Hello My dear Friend: Another lovely album of the beauty we are letting slip away. Beautiful....Thanks so very much Jayne, for dropping in on my Craigdarroch Castle Album and your wonderful comments left behind...I know I have been out of the loop for awhile, I just needed to get my head re-alined. I had a wonderful time putting the Castle album up and I am already looking forward to another real soon...I have always been thinking of you ..Big Hugs, Grizz

Hi, Jayne, Thanks very much for assembling and sharing this splendid and evocative collection documenting surviving red phone boxes and highlighting their often beautiful, traditional settings! Thank you, also, for inspiring Tony in Somerset (tonye1000) to compile a red-phone-box album of his own! As I mentioned to him, as overseas visitors, we do still continue to find British phone boxes to be of considerable practical value, and we are always relieved when we find British phone boxes that still take coins. (So many boxes are card-only, when they haven't vanished altogether, apparently based on the assumption that every one has a working cellular phone -- yet our stays have not been long enough to justify the expense and nuisance of fitting up our cell phone for them.) So long live the red phone box, along with phone boxes in general! I hope that you have been enjoying a splendid and photographically productive weekend! With thanks, again, and hugs, Rebecca

This theme seems a natural fit beside your postboxes Jayne. It's a timely undertaking, because phone boxes have virtually disappeared from our streets, rather as you say in your introduction. Record as many of them as you can before they become history. Thank you Jayne for visiting my featured album "River Dance: The Slideshow" and your kind comment. Best wishes from Keith.

I’ll have to go through my many other albums of villages that aren’t published on Webshots and see how many phone boxes I’ve taken. Good idea Jayne. Tony.

Hi Jayne, like you, I’ve been more aware for some time of things around us that are fast disappearing and it’s a good idea to record it while we've got the chance. These red telephone boxes are not only disappearing but more and more will not take coins. Pubs are closing at an alarming rate; land is being swallowed up for building and the look of our towns and villages is rapidly changing. I hope that our photographs will be found to be useful to future generations many years from now when a lot of our icons are gone forever. Kind regards. Tony.
