  • Hello Francisca! What a delightful album this is of a relatively unknown little village in Catalonia! This is a photographer's dream, and you have taken full advantage of it and shot many perfect pictures. Each photograph tells a story of history, tradition and architectural style.   • Pals is een gemeente in de Spaanse provincie Gerona in de regio Catalonië met een oppervlakte van 26 km². In 2006 telde Pals 2400 inwoners. Zoals veel stadjes in die streek, is Pals op een heuvel gebouwd. Het Middeleeuwse centrum is prachtig bewaard en daardoor een trekpleister voor veel toeristen. In de oude huisjes vind je heel wat authentieke en modernere keramiekwinkeltjes.

  • Pals es un municipio Español de la provincia de Gerona, situado en la comarca del Bajo Ampurdan. Es uno de los municipios mas importantes de la comarca desde el punto de vista natural y variedad de paisaje y de su riqueza patrimonial. Es el barrio del Pedro, de empinadas y estrechas callejuelas, hoy transformado en un conjunto de segundas residencias. En la Torre de les Hores, dispone de vistas espectaculares del llano del Emporda; abarca desde las Medes hasta el Canigo. Otra edificacion interesante es la iglesia gotica de Sant Pere, construida con los restos del antiguo castillo.

  • Pals is a medieval town in Catalonia a few kilometres from the sea in the heart of the Bay of Emporda on the Costa Brava. It has a historic centre on a hill surrounded by plains with an ancient Romanesque tower built between the 11th and 13th centuries which was used as a belltower - which is why it is known as the Torre de las Horas (Tower of the Hours). The Gothic Quarter of the town has been substantially restored and there are cobbled streets interrupted by semicircular arches, façades with pointed arched windows and stone balconies. The town wall contains four square towers which date from the 12th century. The Josep Pla viewpoint (from which can be seen the fields of Empordà and the Medes Islands), the Plaza Mayor, the tombs in the Calle Mayor and the church of Sant Pere are other features of the town.
