  • Coleton Fishacre's mailing address is in Kingswear, as Wikipedia (quoted below) lists its location; it is on the same peninsula as the town of Kingswear. In practice, it is out in the countryside outside Kingswear, to the southeast, and one reaches it by driving -- or walking -- down a very narrow country lane, too narrow for two cars to pass each other. Coleton Fishacre faces and slopes down towards the sea (the English Channel), whereas Kingswear faces the River Dart. Along the coast not far from Coleton Fishacre in the other direction, to the northeast, is the town of Brixham. The Arts & Crafts house, built for the D'Oyle Carte family of theatrical fame, is indeed open to the public and is well worth visiting.

  • Dear my friend Rebecca,You did a great work, here to introduce these beauties of your lovely country.I learned that Coleton Fishacre is a property consisting of a 24-acre (97,000 m2) garden and a house in the Arts and Crafts style, situated in Kingswear, Devon, England. What a wonderful garden to walk!I don't know how I thank you so much.I enjoyed all my tours on your gardens album.I know I will visit this amazing album and the others several times. The garden at Coleton Fishacre runs down a narrow combe from the house to the sea at Pudcombe Cove. The garden features rare and exotic plants. How nice to learn that this superb garden was opened to the public immediately, while the house was let to tenants. The Trust finally opened the house to the public in 1999.Thanks again.Wish you a wonderful week with your family...Warm regards, your friend Rasim
