  • Dear Francisca, this album is "Venice Pure"! - (no sign of tourist pollution!) ;-) A very personal, subjective view of this probably "most photographed city of the world". I thought your focus on mooring poles was quite interesting. It was like a thread to follow throughout the entire album. Very unique approach. I have been here several times but THIS is the way I want to remember Venice! Also, thank you for your little explanation comment to begin with. Greetings from Muniich, Eve

  • Hello Francisca! What an interesting theme you have chosen and executed it so professionally! The mooring poles always get forgotten when one gets mesmerized by the city of splendour, Venice. You have highlighted the often neglected theme, and made it come alive with fascinating pictures. I can only say that it is the artistry in you which has brought about this album. Wonderful pictures, Francisca! Best wishes, Suresh

  • Venice is a city in northern Italy, the capital of the region Veneto. Venice has been known as the "La Dominante", "Serenissima", "Queen of the Adriatic", "City of Water", "City of Bridges", and "The City of Light". It is often cited as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The city stretches across 118 small islands in the marshy Venetian Lagoon along the Adriatic Sea in northeast Italy. The saltwater lagoon stretches along the shoreline between the mouths of the Po (south) and the Piave (north) Rivers. The Venetian Republic was a major maritime power during the Middle Ages and Renaissance, and a staging area for the Crusades and the Battle of Lepanto, as well as a very important center of commerce (especially silk, grain and spice trade) and art in the 13th century up to the end of the 17th century.
