Album Description:
The middle river section of the Ocoee just down stream from Olympic park. We selected this section because it had more heavy rapids than the Olympic Park section. I went with my wife Candy, and daughter Sara. Sara has done the Ocoee a few times.

Jim, a very interesting album! I took photos of white water rafting on the New River in West Virginia on May 23, 2009, but I was NOT tempted to ride one! lol I don't swim at all. It was adventure enough for me to climb out on the rocks and watch them pass by. Many of the kayakers deliberately rotate and take the rapids backwards. Maybe this is easier. Some of the rafts got caught going in endless circles above the rapids and had trouble freeing themselves. Many had a passenger riding on the front of the raft with feet in the water. They usually fell off. Most impressive to me was the raft loaded with the gear (food and clothes). One man with long paddles took the entire load over the rapids alone and followed the customers downstream. Now with your album, I can stay dry and see what I missed! lol ~Jade

What a great album. You really had an adventure. I have never tried rafting, but I am tempted by seeing your pictures and the fun you all had. You were brave to take the camera along and getting all those great shots. Thanks for sharing. Marie

Hi Jim! This is a great album and I really enjoyed it. You have a beautiful family. Thanks for sharing. I am a little bit jealous though. We are hitting 100 degrees during the day with no humidity. It's a dry heat but it's still hot!

i am going to send this link to my brother. he has a cell phone. so do his sons. he may want to check these out. he doesn't belong to webshots but he will want to see this. he is going to have 102 datime temps and 68 nite time. i don't understand the reason for the difference. but they are in utah right now. they start the trip tomorrow. i notice you said you will do it again. but will your wife? i doubt it. i did it once. it was scary. i like showers and electricity. warm beds and hate bugs. i am not outdoorsey. thanx so much for sharing this album with us!! mary

Great way to cool off on a hot day! You did a yeoman's job of handling the camera and were rewarded with some terrific action shots! Susan

This looks like a lot of fun. I'd sure need the life jacket though, as I'm not a strong swimmer. Thanks for sharing your exciting day.
