Baguio South Drive Walk

Album Description:

A cool early morning walk along South Drive in Baguio City yielded these treasured images. I enjoy early morning solo walks beneath tall pine trees or among dense greenery. Pine scent is truly soothing. Oh, what I'd give to live in a place like this!

    • Heavenly! I'm sold, Maryann. This is where I want to live the rest of my life. I'm sorry I didn't visit Baguio when I was in the neighborhood in 2006.

    • Dear Charlene, There is something appealing & enticing about that southern part of Baguio (especially the environs of South Drive) that is truly invigorating and freshens the soul. And that feeling stays with you forever, as it did with you, with me and with anybody who may have walked through & experienced that forested part of the city. I can relate with your nostalgia, for I feel the same way. Thank you, my dear friend, for your very sweet comment. Treating my albums as your "window" to your old haunts in Baguio and elsewhere in our beloved country - well, I like that a lot and will keep that in my thoughts when I go on my photo journeys around the country. Maraming salamat, Charlene, at Mabuhay ka! ~~~Mary Ann

    • I used to live in the Country Club Village and explored every corner of Camp John Hay, Country Club, Mines View, Gibraltar and South Drive. These are my favorite corners of Baguio City. This album brings nostalgic memories to me. You have captured the beauty of the place so nicely. Thanks for sharing again. You are my window to Baguio and other places in the Philippines now. Warm greetings! - Charlene

    • A Facebook friend (Joseph D. Lansang) left this FB message: "Hello Mary Ann ... thanks for sharing a glimpse of Baguio. Hoping South Drive stays as it is. NOT CONGESTED! GB!" This was my response: "Hi Joseph! Great to hear from you! I really, really hope South Drive keeps its greenery, its forests, and its rustic charm. They're the things that keep pulling me back to Baguio. If that were gone, there's not much for me to return to. I immensely enjoy those cool walks in woodsy atmosphere. Oh, I already miss Baguio! Sigh!"

    • Dear Mary Ann, this is an ideal place to retire! The blooms and the cool breeze will be there during early morning walks. There is plenty of greeneries all around and except for the hilly roads, it is conducive to exercise jogs or walks. Thanks for sharing this part of Baguio that I don't think I have visited yet. Have a wonderful weekend, my friend.
