Album Description:

My work travel took me to cool Baguio City at a time when summer flowers inside the camp were in full bloom. This flower album is dedicated to all teachers ... and teachers at heart.

    • Hi my beloved friend! How have you been lately? It's been a little while since we talked last. Hope you're doing fine. I'm visiting this wonderful collection of yours and suddenly I remembered I recently uploaded a new shot of a Central American flower, very exotic in every way, and I wonder if you know what flower it is. I had never seen it before and I asked around to no avail. Would you like to take this "challenge", Mary Ann? Warm greetings from your friend Jorge.

    • Dear Mary Ann, I enjoyed the virtual walk along the tree lned passageways and banks of the Teacher's camp. I have heard a lot about it but never made it there. My favorite was Camp John Hay when I was stationed in the Philippines. I remember staying at a 3br/2ba cottage for $10 per day, complete with fireplace! I learned a lot by reading the historical notes you posted. I could imagine in my mind the hub of activity while the teachers are holding their seminar/vacations there. Indeed, we are the beneficiaries of the work the early American teachers sowed in the early 1900's. They built the University of the Philippines in 1906 and we were both schooled there! There was not much adjustment for me when I went to San Diego State University because the format and curriculum was the same! I see that there are plenty of shots for our favorite flower, smiling Sunflowers! Thanks for sharing, Mary Ann. God bless America and the Philippines! Ding
