A good book is "Manila: A memoir of Love and Loss" by Purita Echevarria de Gonzalez. It's the story of a Spanish family living in the Philippines during World War II. A must-read for every Filipino and every history buff interested in World War II in the Philippines.

I found the album by accident too. Thanks for the contribution. Like giszerwas (Jim), I am interested in WW II and particularly the Philippines. It's fascinating to see the pictures of Corregidor after reading the history of the struggle for it and the tragedy involved. Your album has made me want to try to fit a trip there in next time I am in the Philippines myself. Thanks again Tom

I am glad I found this album by accident. You did a very good job not only with your camera, but with the informative captions as well. I am interested in World War II and thoroughly enjoyed seeing this historical sight in detail. When I was a young soldier returning from Korea in the summer of 1962, we stopped at Manila and Subic Bay and picked up a group of Philippino veterans of Bataan and Corregidor, to take them to the US for a vacation. I had the honor and privilige to talk with several of those heroes. A few years ago I visited the final resting place of Gen. McArthur in Norfolk, Va. If you interested, I could send you some pictures. Meanwhile, keep up the good work and greetings from NJ - Jim

I enjoyed looking at your albums. I'm also Filipina. I'm proud of my heritage. The pictures you haven taken is very exciting for me to see. I haven't been back there in 20 years. Benilda
