Tonight, here in Canada, the thermometer is plunging to about -15 C. and the winds are howling - the coldest night yet this year. Wonderful to look at your roses on such a night and hope for spring. Will check out your Desert photos as well. You're right - it would have been great to have spent more time in the Queensland outback - but I suspect that we never would have gone there on our own, so the bus trip was the alternative. If you have a chance, look at our flower pictures from Australia, and help us identify some of the unknowns..Barb from Canada

Thanx for dropping a message commenting about my ‘flower collection’. Regarding 'Pride of Japan'… I got that name from a Sri Lankan horticulture expert... That might be the name they used for that flower. Thai name is ‘Chuwon Chom ‘. (I am not whether I spelled it correctly.) If you can let me know the name you use, I will be able to update the description. BTW, It is very common in Thailand and I have seen in Sri Lanka as well. But I have never seen it in UK (or else did I missed it?) Is it available in Australia? I went through your flower photos. I like half bloomed Roses. I like roses very well.

Hi Gladys, I can't make decide what I find more compelling - your flowers or your landscapes of Australia. I'm biased toward roses. H Gladys: I love roses and have a few growing in my back yard. Unfortunately they don't grow well there because it is too shaded. They are so fragrant! I really like this album.
