  • These are amazing pictures of Las Palmas, and I thank you for sharing them. I'm sure you will never forget this trip. We go to PV every second year, but for some reason did not go in 2002. If we had gone, we would have flown into PV the day before hurricane Kenna struck. Our timeshare in Pelicanos (formerly Plaza Las Glorias) is next door to Las Palmas. The 2 4 story towers were totally destroyed, and are now replaced by one 7 story tower. We used to have the best unit in the resort, being the top/4th floor, on the ocean looking right into the marvellous sunset. Unfortunately, the government would only allow one tower to be rebuilt, so our unit is now on the top/7th floor, but no longer on the ocean. Fortunately, they resort moves us to the 4th floor on the ocean when we go. We are just so glad that no lives were lost in the Hurricane. We felt so helpless when we heard the news, as there was little we could do from Toronto. Thanks again for sharing these images.

  • We have a condo in Los Tules ground floor right beside Las Palmas which was also destroyed in Hurricane Kenna. Las Palmas was a favourite drinking hole for us. I really appreciate your first person account of the event. Las Palmas has been rebuilt and is an improvement over its original state. When we were there in March 2003, it was still closed and under construction.
