Album Description:

These are photos of old wooden barns taken in Eastern Washington. I took the backroads in the fertile Palouse Country to find many of them. Most of them are new photos since my original album.

  • Revisiting your album here, I think you have added scenes since I was last here! Just an outstanding visual sense of beauty, details, and photo composition you have!!! When I'm not appreciating those things - your scenes activate all my appreciations of Washington State's history and agricultural development. Your scenes and camera work are really appreciated!!! Thanks!!! Gary, a native Seattle-ite.

  • My dear Jane! Gosh I enjoyed your album so much and lots of lovely memories popped up!! I do not know why but I looked it from the 8th page to the first one...lol...!instead of beginning where it begins...:D! These kind of barns we do not have at all so it is such a thrill seeing them here. Thanks so very much for visiting my one and only album which I uploaded for all my dear friends here. I have now far more than 6000 photos in Fotkiland and love the possibility of chatting under the photos a lot. I like being there but of course I miss my old friends like you, for example! So coming year I'll make an album and fill it with 'highlights of 2008'...:D! Than I'll delete this one again. I hope yu are much better now! I was sorry hearing about you accident! How bad - but God is good, all the time!! Halleujah! He is our healer! I wish you a speedy recovery, my lovely Jane! Hugs to you my dear friend and heaps of Gods blessing and healing to your bones in Christ Jesus name!!Hug, much love and a big kiss - Trixi:)

  • Hello again Jayne, congratulations on your featured horses album today but this one interests me more. Your barns over there are so colourful & I do not think I have seen a better album of USA barns than this. This is from my new name & I have an album of "old barns UK style" if you can find time to look, quite different from USA. Eric

  • Hi Jane, The only thing better than your wooden barn album would be 5 or 6 of them, really! I never get tired of viewing your lovely barns. I am especially taken with the round barn in this one but then again, I like the old rustic ones also. It is so wonderful that you capture the seasons too, I love seeing them in spring, summer and surrounded by snow. Great work and this would be another great feature! Candy

  • In your album Old wooden Barns in Washington, the 39th picture of the barns reminds me of the barn on the place I grew up on southern Missouri. You have a good eye for a picture. Thank you very much. Linda in Mo.

  • Jane..This album too is as Awesome as the Idaho album...You truly have a expert "eye" for these classic old wooden treasures..Some of these would make fantastic enlargements to hang in a den or living room..I'm sure you will loads of guestbook entries & views with both albums of barns...Way to Go my friend...God's Blessings from Texas...Ken

  • Hello Jane! You have an wonderful, enormous collection of barns! Should be published in a book! It's interesting for us, all these forms, so diffrent from our European barns, especially the barns with round roofs (as in #3, #41, #42, #71 and others). The worn out barns look nice, antique! Thanks for your comments in our featured albums! Have a nice weekend! Henri and Käthi

  • I just love old farm houses, barns, and equiptment. I'm always looking. I have some in my albums, if you care to check them out. I think that you will enjoy them. They were taken in the Cold Lake area of Alberta Canada. Cold Lake is located almost on the Saskatchewan border, about half way up from the 49th. There are many more there, that I will have to farret out. You've done a great job! Leona

  • HI JANE AS YOU ARE ONE OF MY FAVOURITE MEMBERS I SEEM TO HAVE NEGLECTED YOU OVER THE LAST FEW WEEKS. THIS NEW ALBUM HAD ME THINKING, IT'S AS THOUGH YOU TAKE A BARN, PLACE IT MILES FROM ANYWHERE AND THEN ON A CLEAR SUNNY DAY TAKE AS MANY PHOTOS THAT YOU WANT WITHOUT ANY INTERRUPTIONS FROM MAN OR BEAST. KEEP THEM COMING JANE ....ROBERTO

  • Hi sister...beautiful old barns ... full of history and full of memories. We walked out in the wheat field to photograph the barn on the Pullman Highway (#5). That is my favorite photo along with the old barn on the road to our brother's home. Keep up the travels along the back roads to find these old beauties. God Bless you dear sister. Donna

  • Jane; What a great collection of old barns. I have also wanted to do some albums on barns. I am amazed at how many different theme colours there are for barns. It almost seems to be kind of a regional thing. One day we took a drive and saw many barns that were the colour of seaglass, but that was not too far from the ocean. You have inspired me with your shots. This album is just incredible....thanks for sharing. Marjie in Olympia

  • Hi Jane! I just love all the Wooden Barns you have found in Washington State. I always pictured Washington as being mostly mountains and lots of forests. I've only touched the edge of Washington by crossing the bridge from Oregon along the Columbia River Gorge and driving along the bottom of the state. Then I was able to say I had been to Washington. I guess that was cheating a little wasn't it? Have a great day. Sharon
