Hi Jane, It has been a while. You continue to make beautiful photos! I'm pleased to see that. You are so gifted. I particularly like the barn of the seasons. Very creative! I've had some health issues. Am doing okay. God bless you! Larry

I always consider myself lucky when I find an album such as this. I think old farms, barns and machinery should be cataloged in some way. Came check out my albums on this topic.

Hi again Jane, congratulations on your featured flag album today, I did not know you had a flag day over there! Must have missed this barn album when I viewed the other one & I was not a serious member of ws when it was featured back in 03. Love to see these old barns of yours, we have seen so many in the old films that they are imprinted on our minds. Great shots but you do have some hard winters over there, like the one built in 1918 has real character. Eric

Image #34 Is very good! The barn anchors the rest of the image but is not realy the central focal point.A very pleasing image. The rest of the album rocks! Thanks. Albert

Thank you for your kind comments. I took a tour through your barn album and I must say it was difficult to choose which photos I liked the best but I narrowed it down to #11, #12, #13, #47 and #58. This is an excellent album.

Back again! I wanted to catch up on my downloads. I love the old log homes and barns. The large barn on the last page must have been a great place for community gatherings. Can't you just see the picnic tables, food, and hear the "talk talk talking" louder each time so as to be heard:) My mother tells me of those days and the barn dances. What goes around, comes around - so I have heard all my life. We do not really change all that much. I'll stop rattling:) Be back later. GOD BLESS, Betty

I love your pictures of the barns near Pullman WA. My niece graduated from WSC in 1994. WSU is one of the most beautiful College campuses I have seen. I know the University pictures are not in this album, but I wanted to mention it anyway. If you ever go past the farm where the own has all kinds of wheels around the property line, would you please take a picture and post it here. I have a picture I took when I was up there, but my camera was not digital and the picture isnot that good. Thank you, Jane, for sharing your beautiful photos. Rosalie in Colorado

Dear Jane, This is a terrific album. I loved watching the slideshow and I am only sad because Webshots won't let me download any photos these days. I see so many that I would love to have on my computer to enjoy. I love seeing the different seasons and the clouds and blue skies in Idaho are stunning. I'm sorry it has taken me so long to visit you, I haven't been spending much time on Webshots these days but have been meaning to get over here sooner. Thanks for the guestbook entry, it is nice to hear from such a pro! Warm Wishes, Candy

I was looking for pictures of old barns. I came upon your pictures, which are beautiful. I was very excited to discover they are only a few miles from where I live in Idaho. I am building an "old" new house and want an old looking barn for my garden shed. I found lots of ideas from your pictures. Thanks for sharing

Forgot to add, you have the correct artistic eye for this subject. Old barns, old farms, conjure up moods. Also a sense of [a] family's history through good times and bad times. Through all kinds of weather, and alot of long hard work. And out in a beautiful, peaceful setting: "The Big Country."

Hello Jane, I love the additions to this album since I saw it last. It only gets better! May I extend my best wishes to you and yours during this Blessed Holiday Season. I really appreciate all of your very generous comments in my guestbooks in the past.Since you love barns so much, I want to invite you to visit my recently completed album on the Amish and an Amish Barn Raising. I am sure that you will enjoy it if you have not already seen it. I am amazed that the large Amish barn in this album was built and stocked with hay in one day. In doing this, these Amish farmers did so without using any modern tools. Their horses and carriages were also wonderful subjects to photograph. I hope you enjoy these pictures! Bill Cable (heyburn3)

Jane, I have grown to love your "piece of the world" from viewing your photographs. I focus too much on me and not on the world around me. I can almost hear the songs of the birds and the rustle of the leaves in your photos. They are gifts from The LORD and I THANK HIM and you. GOD BLESS, Betty

Hi Jane...I love looking through this album. All of the barns and farms are really interesting to me. I love the looks of them and perhaps because I don't see this often, but I used to see many barns when I was a young child. Now they are gone to subdivisions. I love the fields and pastures too and the cabins and sheds. Great album and glad you keep adding to it. hugs and love, Barbara

Jane, your photo essay on "Harvesting in the Palouse" is wonderful, as were your photos on the Snake. I'll never forget the summer I spent as a teenager at Central Ferry, which is on the Snake. There's nothing like them anywhere on the internet, thank you so much for doing it and sharing! The Palouse is an under-appreciated and under-visited area of the Pacific Northwest, and you managed to bring out its special beauty which is unmatched. Please visit my albums, I have one on eastern washington and I'd like to read your comments.--Mike

Jane, Congratulations for having this well deserved Featured album. As Usual, Your barn photographs are superb. In this album, I find it difficult to pick out which one(s) I like best because they are all so great. I really like the weathered barn with the rounded gables and the doors with parallel diagonal boards. This barn has extremely interesting character. I am delighted that you are showing the context of each barn that is so very important. This context and barn styles vary so much around the country, and Idaho has a unique barn style and geographic quality. The way you compose your shots is truely professional in quality. Keep up the fine work. We are all looking forward to many more of your photographs. God Bless. Bill Cable (heyburn3)

Hi Jane, Congratulations on being a featured album! Thank you so much for your comments on my Grandmothers of the World pencil sketches. Now, I must say I am a huge fan of old wooden barns, hence my "handle" ; Barnchaser. Unfortunately, there are few of those in this area of El Paso Texas/south central New Mexico. Now I have the opportunity to view a few in your wonderful albums. Charlotte

Congratulations on being featured! Very beautiful shots! Enjoyed looking at the colours and the nice composition. I won't be telling you something new for sure, but you also will enjoy taking a look at community.webshots.com/us er/heyburn3 . You both share a good photographers eye and the love of collecting nice pieces from history. Please feel also welcome to have a look at some shots from unusual angles which I took from a windmill in my neighbouring village. Greetings Anna Oldenhave, The Netherlands
