My dear friend...how lovely these pictures are. We have a newer carousel in a mall near us, I should run down with my camera! And, it was good to chat with you last night, glad everything is going well! Thank you SO much for the wonderful guestbook entry today, I really appreciate the kind words and the support! I was stunned, to say the least! - Hugs and love galore back at you - claudia

Thanks for your very nice comments about my Florida ranching photos. I especially love your Carousel Horses photo volume. Do you know, carousel horses carved prior to 1600 show the gaited (legs on same side moving almost together) of horse of that period, and carvings after 1600 show the trotting horse leg pattern (alternate, criss-cross foot-fall patttern). In other words, there's a Carousal Horse story to be told by photographing the entire body and showing the leg movements captured by whoever carved that particular horse for the carousel. The horses in my own photos are living descendents of the pre-1600 kind. Thought you'd find that bit of information of interest. Again, thanks for your kind remarks about my photo volumes. Really enjoy your very professional photographs.

Hey there Briansbabe, thanks for signing my guestbook - I feel honored. A fish boil? it involves a huge pot set on a fire. Inside the pot they put onions and potatos and let them cook for a while. Then a screen is layed on top of the veggies and the whitefish are added and cooked for a while. Just before all the food is removed from the pot the fire is stoked to the point that the pot boils over and all the fish oils are boiled off That is when the pic was taken as the fish oils really ignite. Then all is removed and served. DooR County is called the Cape Cod of the Midwest -it's the thumb of land that seperates Lake Michigan from Green Bay. Thanks for signing and I've viewed some of your pix and intend to view more but I thought I'd get this to you quick. Pete

A beautiful carousel album. Carousel horses are one of my favorites and I captured one on my trip to San Fran. Each horse so beautiful and whimsical. My first car was a 1969 ss396 chevelle and it was a really fun car. And it was more fun to race up and down main street with other muscle cars from the 60's. Wild times, but lots of fun :) Thanks for sharing your wonderful pics with us :) sincerely .. donnali

Hi Dar, These horses sure are nice! It brings back a lot of memories of years gone by! Yes, I don't allow a lot of traffic in my pics! :0) When they have the Fiesta, no traffic is allowed anywhere near Public Square, so that's why you don't see any cars! Thanks for signing my album! Vicky

Nice work with the carosel horses..guess I'm going to have to go back through my 4x5 negs and scan the carousel shot from Seabreese. It was a late 1800's carousel, unfortunatly it was completely distroyed in fire about 10-15 years ago. Wolf from Sodus

We were here two years ago around Labor Day Brianna would not get on the horses. We had fun though it was a blast. She wanted to ride the coaster. Lora in NY

Hi again! I love this album of Carousel Horses! There is something fascinating about a carousel even for senior citizens like myself. I'll still ride any carousel I find at the amusement parks. We have Six Flags here in the St. Louis area and my husband and I go there frequently. It started out to be a place to take the kids, then grandkids, and now we just go by ourselves. :-))) Thanks for the lovely comments in my Grant's Farm album; I really get a kick out of pigs, but my husband grew up on a farm and said I wouldn't find them quite so amusing if I had had to raise them. LOL :-))) By the way, I love the Carousel Pig!!! Thanks for sharing. Sharon
