  • Being a retired forester, I remember hearing about and seeing locally-planted ornamental "true cedars" at Oregon State University: Cedrus deodara and Cedrus atlantica, both beautiful trees with wide-spreading branches. They are magnificent creations. They are a favorite because there are so many planted in the northwestern USA. Thanks for the photos of the real thing in its native land! I also enjoyed looking at the pictures of your beautiful and handsome family members in another of your albums. Jim in Longview, Washington, USA (where there are hundreds of cedars in yards throughout the town)

  • Hello and what an amazing trip you offer to your beautiful native land! You made a fantastic album of green cedars for which Lebanon is famous, but also, I enjoyed seeing the snow on the mountains and the green valleys of your other albums. I admired as much the ancient architecture, sculpture, as the newer one ("Crucifixion& quot; in this album). Also, I'll never think of Lebanon as only bullet-ridden Beirut! Thanks for sharing and thanks for your comments in my Wyoming & Tetons album, Ina in Canada

  • Good morning Dr. Sassine, indeed the biblical cedars of the Lebanon really spring to life in your album. Thanks for sharing. Never again will I think of Lebanon as dreary and dusty. Your album of fall colours and oak trees is great too. Thanks for your comments on my album - being featured was a great surprise, Hanna

  • Hello, Dr. Sassine-enjoyed your album "Cedars of the God...". I want to thank you for all your kind comments on my featured "Mountain&qu ot; album of 15 Nov 2004. There are so many albums to view in Webshots that unless they are brought to the attention of others, there's usually little time to have a good look at yours, for instance!! Thank you for taking the time to allow us to view your thoughts through your camera lens. There's much to N. Lebanon that most would never know about, but you're helping us out with your great pictures. I'd like to see more photos. I've added one new album called Fall Dogwood if you have the time to take a look. Again, thank you. Ron

  • Hi Sassine, Thank you very much for your nice comments in my featured album today. I love the Cedars - they are beautiful and your photos are very moving. I visited your country in '73 and was dumbstruck by the beauty everywhere there, from the Mediteranean to Baalbeck and every place in between. Warm wishes from California -Shukran, Beth

Amicalement, Chantal
